lol... so it doesnt need a frizzle... would a silkie or cochin be okay?

Fletcherpoultry auction...I don't know how to post a link (computer stupid) but if you copy and paste this address there is a good article on Frizzles. There is a frizzle club there also.

www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGD/Friz/What MakesFriz.html

or do a google search on National Frizzle Club of America ....
or "Glenda Heywood". She is a frizzle expert.

Not at you, MAllen, but Bryan at DARP is the guy who kept saying that he *could not tell me a week in advance* when I could bring my chickens in! So I ended up losing over HALF trying to get them in, and P&B volunteered to show me how to butcher so I wouldn't lose the rest!!

Oh! Now I get it. When I spoke to him he told me I could just give him a call & he would tell me which Monday to bring them in, then I could pick them up in 2 days or just wait until the following Monday which is my day off at the casino. Seemed like a fairly straight forward process. But considering all the costs involved I think I'll just drive up there and buy some of his that are already processed and frozen, seem the cheaper & smarter way to go.

Matt

I agree with hating the coldness. But, I just wanted to add that I have been to a couple of shows on days that were sooo cold, and the buildings were not heated.... well, they just closed them up, and I guess there was enough "body heat" to help a bit... I still enjoyed it, and I never got sick or anything...

About the Silkies... I really don't know

The lady who offered to bring them to Moore now isn't able to. I am trying to find someone else who can bring them from Tulsa... but I don't know if I'll be able to

Hiya Grace! Looks like we get a bit of a reprieve from the rain for a couple of days.

Yes, I thought today and tomorrow were going to be pretty nice... but it is soooo windy today!

Well, gosh....too bad. You would think SOMEBODY would be going from Tulsa to Moore. I have a business right on I-35 (Service Rd.) in Moore. It wouldn't be out of the way. I'll be here all day--everyday,...7:30 to 5:30 if you can get them a ride. Will be leaving here about 5:00 A.M. Sat.

Afternoon Okies, how's everybody?

That sounds like a good deal, but not for me (with the cost of fuel) so I bought my chicks from central hatchery (NE). They sell for $60/100 plus shipping so I split an order with 4 other families and ended up at $.89/chick. Very healthy, lost 1 out of 115 with 3 extras (so net +2), avg 7# @ 10 wks. I will buy from them again!

Have a great week!

Howdy friends!

Wild day here in teaching land! I tried to be busy tis weekend but things kept coming up! Basketball in the middle of the afternoon kinda takes out a day. Then I got irritated at church stuff!

I had a good hatch in Dec of bbs orps bbs silkies and a couple NN's and shut her down. I am having withdrawls right now, it hurts. But with the icestorm coming in this week, around Wedsnday or Thursday I think, I know I made the right decision to shut her off lol. Starting next month ill be back in the full swing of things.I plan on hatching out 500+ this year, mostly mutts but I enjoy it. I just gotta find the eggs first lol.
