Perhaps we could refine our search tecnics on the web and play with a few combinations, sometimes that works for me. I am sure you can find something similar, but since the housing codes now forebid them No telling where they could be or even if they are produced any longer.

And yes I will keep my good eye peeled for one for you.

Faerie,

You don't need a freezer. I just set an ice chest on the porch and use it as a refrigerator. It will work until the temperature climbs back above freezing.

Once they outlawed them in this country, they probably sent them to Mexico. Maybe we should look there

Hiya Stimpy!

I am doing very well thanks! Been busy cooking ect (boring I tell ya) Glad to see my friends here! How are you doing??

I am trying to make sure that I can stay warm this weekend. I t hink I have my birds all set, but I'm afraid that if I lose power for too long I might lose the incubator.

We are in the same thinking process as you are in regards to the set up of the house being prepared for what ever... Our goal is to purchase a Cast Iron wood burning stove this spring with our taxes so I can cook on it too if the power goes out plus it will help keep the home warm... I have candles up the wazzo from the days I sold Party Light(8 years ago) and Kerosene and Oil lamps(from my late grandmother) so that doesnt concern me as much about light issues, plus the kids and I are reading Farmer Boy so this will be interesting and fun to live a few days like they did back then in the harsh winters if the weather here actually goes that route and gets nasty.

Kids and I are taking these few days off of Homeschool Lessons to clean up the shop in case we need to move the horses in if it gets to bad and to make a list of anything we may need for a few days... Glad I picked up feed for the Chickens, Geese, Duck and Turkeys... lol.

Perks about home schooling is I can school them even if the other kids are not in school and then take a few days off if need be

believe me my kids sometimes groan when we school while the "public school" kids have off.. ha ha ha muwhaaaa

PS: The Silkie that P&B's gifted me with on Sat at Blanchard is a TRUE BLUE EDWARD SCISSORS BEAK, not only does he have a crossed over beak but he has 5 yes 5 toes on each foot and I am not talking the lil feathers on his feet either...

I am happy that I resisted the urge to set any eggs~ I don't have to worry about it.

I am alot like Fearie because I got to the grocery store to make sure we have enough food but other than that we don't do much. I think DH will pick up gas for the generator. We have propane heat & stove so nothing much changes we just shut down part of the house to make it smaller. Not much to do for the chickens that I haven't already done for the last cold spell. Should we loose power I will be hauling water!

I still have some of that pineapple cream cheese cake left... and fresh coffee

Wish you were down the street instead of across the state!

Stimpy : Or they just send them to China to resell back to us as toasters LOL. I am medicating that WR's rooster frosbitten comb, it looks like it is trying to get a tad bit infected. I like his attitude.

What heater?

Steph,

Al found a skookum wall heater in a remodel he's doing. It's a perfect heating element for an incubator. He won't give that one up, but he said he'd be on the lookout for another.
