I'm going to Blanchard this time... already had set aside the gas money, etc to get there. This just means I'll be able to BUY something.

I'm going to see what they have at Blanchard, if I can't find what I *want*, hopefully there will be something there that I can settle with.

You've got to go, even if just for a fun Saturday night ... that is, if you like lots of noise & laughter & really noisy guineas and geese squawking.

I'll have to ask P&B if I can borrow a cage though :wink wink: because the only ones I have are dog crates and I'm gonna put the silkies in there as a growout pen. They need more room.

somebody always has an extra cage, unless they have to loan it to Mike, we all use an assortment of cages, dog carriers, boxes and onion sacks, whatever we got laying around for the most part.

All I have are a cat carrier and two dog crates. The dog crates are medium sized but they will be in use with the silkies and a MFC cockerel that need to finish growing out before they get shoved outside in the cold. All else fails, I'll bring a packing box.

I was quite upset to miss the last one and whined for a couple days. I have a feeling that J will either take me or kick me out to go because he doesn't want to hear it!

When the weather gets better, want to carpool up to Collinsville early some Saturday morning to check out the informal chicken sale they have? We could meet in Muskogee and carpool up the turnpike from there.

I would love to do that!! Let me know what Saturday's work for you & I will see what I have open. Wonder if Donna would want to meet us up there?

Carah...count me in...I would love meet you all. From what I hear the chicken stuff takes place outside and they start at daylight.

Our coyotes are sneaky and get one at a time. They are the reason that we now have a secure coop and attached run. But when they come in within 5 feet of my back door--it is time to eliminate some. Dang coyotes!

Well, I have to get to bed...church in the morning. G'nite Okies!

You need a good livestock guardian dog ... pyrenees, anatolian shepherd or komondor

BigOkie37 is the authority on this as he's been to the sale in Collinsville. He told me there are a lot of buyers there early (7:00-7:30 a.m.), so it would be worth getting there as early as possible.

I think we should watch the weather and decide which Saturday works for everyone. Sooner and I can meet in Muskogee, carpool, and meet others there.

The sale is held in the south end of the parking lot at the Collinsville Livestock Auction Barn. It's informal, so you take what you have to sell or trade and do your thing. I've heard about some great deals people get on chicks, started birds, and hatching eggs. I'm kicking myself for not going before all this bad weather hit, but I'm sure there are many chicken addicts out there who will show up when the weather is nice enough.

I'm anxious to go, so start checking the weather and let's set a Saturday morning date to go

Its been a few days since I been here. I guess a better start catching up on th posts! Ive been busy since the snow & ice came. This snow really is a pain in the ---.

The netting on the pens are covered with ice and about to fall in. The truck got stuck in the pasture feeding horses and cattle, almost got the other truck stuck trying to get the first one out, had to go home and get the tractor!

I can get up early for chickens!

I was also looking at the map and I can do either but would it be easier to meet in Muskogee or at the McDonald's on the turnpike. You let me know what is easiest & best for you.
