Okies in the BYC The Original

Hi everyone- does anyone have brahma pullets available... i need 3-4 that are definately pullets- 2 roos and 8 girls is pushing it a bit don't ya think? also- i have a weird one...barny adores my little cochin, she doesn't reciprocate the favor- so when he does catch her, its ok but what bugs is when one of the other hens go over and start pecking her comb and she can't get away... any ideas?

Oh Yea, I forgot they teach marines that your a marine til you die, for us sailors, or 'squids' in some circles, 'Haze gray and underway' til we die, just doesn't have the same kinda ring.

Mucked out the run a while ago, it was really RIPE.

Spent $180.00 on roofing stuff, put corrugated steel panels on the coop and porch, got tired of it leaking. need 3 more panels to finish the roof. Me and My trying to do it cheaply, went kaput. This city kid is learning to live in the country.....STILL.

As for the super Bowl, don't give a hoot to either. If the Raiders were there, I just might watch it.

Evening everyone,

Spent most of the morning and day working on clearing, cutting and hauling of the trees that came down from the ice storm... but then thats only on the front yard we still have both side yards and back property to do but we kicked butt today..

You all enjoy that super bowl game we are not much for sports watching so our family isnt missing much.. ha ha

Just come in from feeding the chickens an my daughter is watchn the Cake boss,,,,Its ben misting rain all day long everything is soaked. All the winter grass is gone after this cold spell i guess it will come back wen it gets warm. The chickens sure like it..
Are feed companys are trying to make vegetarians out of are birds it makes me ..sick...all plant protien get real!!! The feed has les an les nutrition in it as it..Its hard to find a good feed anymore....

I just look at the protein level on the chicken feed. I have to confess that I never look at the actual ingredients to see the protein source. My chickens are garbage disposals and will eat almost any leftover I put out for them. They even like left over cooked chicken.

Well I am MUCH better today! I was sicker than a dog yesterday at the goat show. I would get up long enough to watch Shaun show then go lay back down in the truck.
Shaun did not do very well at the show. We was way out classed! I learned a lot and we will do better in the future.

We met Maribeth (P&B) in Guthrie to pick up a rabbit for me and 2 roosters for Queen Scoot. Maribeth I love you!!! You are the sweetest person ever!! She wouldn't even take gas money for bringing me animals. She is the bestest!!
John hates to admit it but he really likes our rabbits. I think he will as long as there is only the 2 of them.

I made cheesy chicken fajita soup and cream cheese/ham/sweet pickle roll ups. Shaun made cocktail weenies with BBQ sauce and grape jelly and a cake decorated with Saints/Colts on top.

I don't watch football but I love the commercials. So I flip when I hear the commercials come on John's TV I flip.

Church service was AWESOME today!!
