got a mix of snow and rain here, glad we worked on the pen yesterday, supposed to snow through midnite... guineas are really complaining about it

looks like a soup day and homemade sourdough biscuits

The snow started spitting here too just a few min ago after it seemed to be misty rain, makes it even more interesting to get through the mucky mud on our property.. I know our animals are not liking it either I am getting attitudes from all directions. Speaking of animals and not sure if I can post it here but I am looking at putting our Shetland Pony up for sale if anyone is interested and if you would like pictures and general info on her just shoot me a PM..Jason and I are re evaluating our goals for our homestead and sometimes that means down sizing

We may even have to down size our chicken flock too mainly roo's and a few hens but we are still talking on that...

Hey.....WHO DAT ?????????? Was hoping for them,
but still can't hardly believe it..........LOL Nor
can I believe the "lousy" effort at commercials
this year.

Off and on snow and drizzle here in Tahlequah.
May use that generator gasoline, yet. They say
this round will be the heavy/wet stuff. That's
the kind that causes problems up this way.

Teach - Bill said to tell you, again, how pleased
he is with the cornish he got from you last year.
Think I already told you about the little roo
winning Best of AOCCL at Fayetteville out of
19 birds. The little hens continued to lay
right up till New Year's Day. And, now.....
even in this weather, have started laying
again !!!!

Just looked outside and we're getting those
giant Arkansas sized snow flakes now, so
better get some chores done. Hope and pray
no power outages for anyone this round.

Have a good one !

Yeah, I know. I looked on their website a little while ago. They definitely have better protein & calcium levels in their feed. Also, I saw where their company delivers to neighboring states including Oklahoma. I guess maybe I should call them & see where the nearest dealer is. It might be worth driving a longer distance & buying more in bulk for quality feed.

Ok ...that would be great if they had a place close by all the feed stores went out of biss around hear so i have to drive aways to get feed anyway. Maybe we could get a feed store near you to sale it. I no alot of people that would buy it.

Quenston lives close to Missouri maybe he would haul a load down here. For a profit of course.

After my second surgery I was cut from temple to jaw, I bruised all the way the way to my chin. I told everyone I got in to a fight being a bouncer at a strip club.

It has been snowing off and on here all morning. My favorite kind.
Big fat wet flakes that melt when they hit the ground.
Just a few miles north of us the ground was covered with about two or three inches.
So far we have been on the south edge of the storm.
I am a few miles north of I-40.

I do not like either the consistancy or the color of the Shawnee Mills feed. Plus the amount of trash in it is unbelievable. Sometimes it looks like there are different feeds mixed in with the chicken feed.

Yeah, I dont like the color of it either. It looks like all junk mixed together. There have been times I have picked up feed and they have either given me the wrong bag of feed or I have gotten feed from the bottom of the bin and it has gamecock ration mixed with it. Like I said not impressed with it. It is the only option I have around here, because S & S only carries 1 brand of layer that looks more like all corn. Its not really a pellet or a crumble.

Goody Michael! You are such a great member of our group with all you know about chickens and everything! Will Macy get to come with you?

Its Big V, and I dont think so. I was just looking at all my labels this morning. We found it at S & S because I like the 20% protein for the birds. Now the other one that I have is for medicated and it is thru United suppliers. I was in contact with them this morning, they are suppose to have a sales rep call me so I can find out about what they carry and the ingredients in their feed. I really like their medicated feed. And S & S has already said if it is a brand they carry they will order as much that I want so I wouldnt have to drive anywhere to get it. I just have to order a 20 bag min.
