I really liked that lil freak show of a chicken, he was one of those things that some would say would say he was so UGLY but CUTE or as Stimpy would say That is Not RIGHT ha ha ha ... I loved him the moment P& B handed us him from the Blanchard Auction a month ago....

I dont know what ailed him as he was really active until this morning(he was the only one I was making a permanant in the house living chicken)when I noticed he was not chirping up a storm or moving around... we tried to give him water and thought maybe there was hope but alas as I have been primering the bathroom and come to check on him and he had passed

I got back from the Cement show safely, and had a great day! I met up with Cammie (countyroad1330) and bought her three remaining birds. I was surprised with a free rooster that I needed from Michael Daugherty, that Gerald brought me. Also, I got to visit with several BYCers - Dandelion007, OKJuneBug, Rebeka, Al and his wife, of course Cammie, GB1 and mg, and probably more that I didn't put a screen name with!
Besides the previously mentioned birds, I did get to own a Crele OEGB pair for a few hours

but was glad when Al picked them up for Carla.... *enjoy them, Carla and Gerald*!

Here are my birds' results:

Black Cochin Bantam rooster - 1st, Best Variety, Best Breed, Best of Feather-legged Class
Black Cochin Bantam pullet - 1st, Reserve Variety, Reserve Breed, Reserve Best of Feather-legged Class
Splash Bearded Silkie Cockerel - 1st, Best Variety, Best Breed
Splash Bearded Silkie pullet - 1st, Reserve Variety, Reserve Breed
Splash Bearded Silkie pullet - 1st, Best Variety
WCB Polish non-bearded pullet - 1st, Best Variety
SDW OEGB hen - 2nd, Reserve Variety
BTW Japanese pullet - 3rd

I think I did notice your crew, but didn't recognize you. Sorry I didn't say hi!
At a show I spend my day alternating between talking my head off, and nervously pacing, but feel free to interrupt either of my states

TJ's Na-Na :

Made it through our first 4-H show of the year
last night. We had a good turnout and a lot
of the kids have come up with some new,
for real show quality birds. TJ had to really
"kick it up a notch".............LOL

He came out of there with 6 blue ribbons, 1
4th place ribbon, he won showmanship,
and "eeked" out the Reserve Champion
embroidered camp chair. He has some
new birds, too. But, knows now, he's gonna
have to put in even more time being ready
for all the new competition. It's good for
him.

Did Kendra get to show?
Sounds like TJ did great! It's easier to show with only a little competition, but it's better to show with hard competition! The judge Doug Connally said he's never seen a show the size of Cement with such quality of birds, so I understand how TJ felt in his show! The advantage of Cement, was that the junior show wasn't terribly big... but the open show was much bigger than I expected!
