You can go to a nail place and have then removed or you can do it at home by soaking them in acetone and finding something thin to fit under them and slowly peel them from your nail..... either way is slightly painful and will tear up your nail some.

Thanks Steph - I have already discovered the "slightly painful" part! The client paid me to have the nails put on, but I didn't think far enough ahead to consider charging to have them removed. I'll try the acetone trick since that will cost about $1.29 at the drug store...

It shouldnt cost but $5 to $10 to have them removed.... If you do it at home be patient with it, it will take a while..... I always get a rough grit file and file the acrylic as far as i can before I soak my nails. It seems to help not tear your nail up as bad and also seems to soak thru faster. It will make a mess.

Hello all! I know its been awhile but it has been a crazy 4 or 5 months. Feel like I am being pulled 50 different ways. Did not want to be a back burner chicken anymore. I read all the posts just am never on my pc to comment. Got a new phone thinking that would work, nope. It was good to see some at Mary's sat morning. I am living so far away from most auctions so dont get to many anymore. But was told by a friend if I dont go to Cement she will come drag me there. Hawk got a lot of chickens and my one guinea hatchling from last year and a full size guinea. Got lots of sheep that were born in the last 2 months. But my ram threw all bucklings this year

I've used a dremel on low with a coarse filing bit. Worked well.

The orange stick it to get up underneath it when the acetone starts making it "lift".

Thanks Steph & Faerie! You are awesome, and the link was very helpful, Kae - my grandma used to have those sticks at her house. I'm sure the cosmetology connection helps in many ways. Now I just need to know where to get some patience...!

She's 11

The perfect age for Uncle Doc to show her how to distinquish the different breeds of birds, run an auction and BID on everything.

And if Teach shows up, Uncle Teach can help her with the bantams.

be prepared to sit with your hand soaking for a long long time. They don't come off quickly.

On a couple of the nails the edge toward the cuticle is loose - I've got a bandaid around the tip of my right index finger because that one got snagged on something and really hurts. None of them seem separated enough at the top to come off - just to greatly irritate me.
