you could use a heat lamp, incubator heater element, anything that puts of heat...just a matter of wiring it correctly...which is not something I am good at...that is why my lights that are on the timer flicker

I don't want to use a heat lamp, considering yesterday morning's discovery. I am considering building a brooder box and using the wafer thermostat setup with maybe an incubator heating element to regulate the temperature.

there is a type of heating element that uses a light outlet but is a heater coil...you could make a relly big brooder and use the element off a clothes dryer!....you could find an old electric stove...coffe pot deal...you could get one of those water floor heater deals...

I should teach...they are coloring muscles....

I also just noticed that you are from SE Okla.... My husband and I are originally from there... I grew up there and lived there from age 7 to 28

120V/400W seems to be the smallest it comes... is that what I need? Also, this is also gonna sound rather silly, but how would I mount that to the box?

Just mount a porcelain light base, available at Wal-Mart or Ace Hardware, and screw the heater into it like a light bulb.

I'm guessing I need to use some wire and make a compartment for it so the babies don't fry themselves. Sweet
