Since we finished up at the pryor show, we made a quick run to the Chupps auction too. There were a lot of birds. Since we were looking for welsummers, we scanned for those. There were a lot of silkies there too.
I might be interested in the auracana roo.

Didn't buy anything at the auction at all. Too many buyers. I go there just about every month. I even have a permanent number with them.
Most of the birds I see at Chupps are mutt birds. Great for eggs, but I want a little finer cut of bird.

Unfortunalty, we've been pretty narrow focused in our looking for breeds, so I don't know of any minorca breeders. We were really on the Langshan path until we met Forrest Beauford and toured his farm. To be honest, he did more discouraging than good, so we chose another path.
He was today's judge in Pryor.

My son liked the cornish also. He described them as "bulldog" looking. I watched the owner try to handle them, and they were pretty wild!

I sell antique tractors for a living and go to shows all over the US. I'm used to a show taking at least a day (12+ hrs) to cover the grounds. I'm very happy I went, and did find part of what I was looking for. I'll be on the lookout for more local shows. I suppose the county fairs would also be good to watch for.

I forgot to add... We also would have gotten there a lot sooner if we hadn't been sidetracked by an Amish bakery, an Amish cheesehouse and an antique shop.

Okie, I tried calling you from the Cement auction to see if you could get in touch with Grace.

Grace, they had Black Tail White Japanese in Cement, two trios and a quad. But I didn't bring enough money.

Carla, thanks so much for bringing me eggs! I'm glad I got to meet you and your husband. He said ya'll were expecting someone older.

I am a little older than I look.

I haven't set the eggs yet, I probably will on Wednesday.

So far I've only had one chick hatch out of my current batch. I'm just not having the greatest luck.

Cammie, thanks for trying to get in-touch w/me. I probably would have wanted them if they weren't toooo expensive, but it's no big deal (I bought some BTW Jap eggs for the 'bator, so maybe I'll get a Roo outta them

)
That's too bad about your hatching troubles
hmm.png
I'm not having ANY luck, yet

And, BTW, you look a LOT younger than you are - that's a good thing

egh - We got 6-8 ins. here

The snow pictures are gorgeous, guys!!! I am so jealous, we got NOTHING! Well, we did get hail the night before. We never get anything in Chickasha.

Grace, glad to know you got some Jap eggs! okCarla brought me 4 Brabanter eggs, and all of my other eggs hatched today!

Cammie, thanks. Don't feel bad about not getting snow! It was awful getting up at 6:00 this morning and taking 2 hours just to un-bury pens, defrost waterers, and feed starving birds who must have thought the world was coming to an end

I have 9 (I think it was 9...) Jap eggs from that assortment of 2 dozen I ordered.
Lucky you on getting Brabanter eggs! And what is this about ALL your eggs hatching
