Food listing for POOPS 2010:

Hi everyone as you know P.O.O.P.S will be May 1st . There will be one meal this year. Most of the meat (thanks to our P.O.O.P.S fund from the fall) will be taken care of so we will be looking mainly for side dishes, deserts, casseroles, paper products, cutlery & drinks.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in, chicken & dumplings were a big hit along with that banana pudding. Keep in mind the number of people (aprox. 100) that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

If you volunteer to bring drinks, paper products or cutlery please tell me the quantity you will bring, also the drinks will need to be on ice. I will also need 2 of the large drink coolers to make kool -aid & tea.

I will need volunteers to help with setting up the meal & cleaning up after.

Please PM me with Food in the subject line with what you plan to bring.

I will keep a running list to post from time to time.

Good Morning,

Some of the chicks we hatched for our research project will go home with parents today. The first five just left with a MOM. Too cool. She's been interested in raising chickens for some time, and her son's interest sent her over the edge. Two new converts!!!!

I should have six more parents showing up after school today. They have all agreed to be monitors to make sure the chicks are cared for. I just hope the current din from the brooder doesn't keep us from working today.

Actually I thought about that. but didn't know how folks would feel about us shooting a tame turkey,

I was thinking since we would be near Antlers I could go by Cuban's and get one.
However, I don't think she has turkeys just Turkens so I am not sure about bringing one of those home and saying "Hey look at this big 'un we got."

Good morning folks
I am so excited, I got news this morning that I got 6 Chocolate and 6 New Holland White babies coming on the 22 nd. Will I pick them up then, they local. They are out of Walters stock and he the guy Porters got stock from. I can't wait to get Lilac from him next year because his lilac are out of the old,old lilac stock and breed true. They will hitch out over 200 then only keep 20 of the best size and true color for the next season. One brother is the body,weight,shapes,etc pro and the others the gene pro. They are working with Walters and bought his hitching business out.
Don is shaking his head. Says, I am the only person around that talks for an hour with another turkey person. I told him nope there lots of us out there.
