good morning everyone.well i hatched 52 babys out of alittle over 9 dz eggs.some of them were 2 weeks old so i knew they wouldnt all hatch.got another 20 hatching day after tomarrow.an i have 19 goose 16 muscovys an i set 7 dz game chicken eggs plus i cant count all the others i have set in there all americana an dark cornish x americana.the gqf is packed.the 7 dz had to be set in the hatching tray so ill have to turn them by hand.i got plenty of room here for all the chickens i can stand lol

Okay Instructions say... during normal operation I am suppose to leave the covered vents closed... Do I open them at anytime... like during the last three days? or maybe when the eggs start hatching... instructions dont say!

Don't know about them incubators Ms. Queen as I don't have one. Maybe Les will show up and help you.

I am going to work on my new pen my neighbor gave me. It was made for dog whelping but with a few modifications it will make a great chicken hutch.
Cloudy but still no rain. My garden sure needs a little.

Wow! 11 days till POops. I am getting excited!I keep praying"God give me the will power to just say No!"I' am sure I will want everything I see. Hard part will be saying no to the baby chicks. But with several more days of travel I will only be able to take bigger birds.

I had to put ducktape over part of the vent holes to stableize the temp. Post a pic of the one you have so we can see it.

Bill told me not to change anything during the hatch ect. upping the humidity.

That is great, it is different than the one I have. It sounds like you need to do a test hatch! Most people up the humidity to 50's or 60's. I can't tell you what mine is during hatch because I don't track it. Seems to be just fine as long as I fill the water pan when I move them to the bottom.

Thank you Betsy and everyone who gave me advice about my brown leghorn, who I thought might be eggbound. I did the Tums thing and the ACV thing along with soaking in warm bath for a couple of nights. I never could feel an egg, and she never really has swelled up, so I don't know what's wrong with her. She spent a couple of nights in my bathroom, but I could never tell if she moved from the same spot - so I put her back out with the other hens for her final night, figuring the next morning I'd try the hatchet cure.

I walked out to the run the next day to get her and she was outside with the other girls, but standing by herself. While I was watching, she slowly walked over to the waterer and took a long drink. I took that as a good sign and put the hatchet back in the garage. These past couple of days she has been sitting on the floor of the coop, but not always in the same place, so she was moving around a bit. Still, I know she's not feeling well, and I decided when it quit raining I'd go get her in the evening and do the deed. This morning she was out in the run with the other chickens, but still standing alone. I opened the gate and she actually showed a little interest - came out into the yard and scratched in the grass a bit and pecked up a little worm and ate it, then went over to stand under the Rose of Sharon bush. None of the others show any sign of illness, and since she is showing some interest in eating and drinking on her own I'll give her a little more time.

Turrible. I came down ill Friday evening and was sick all weekend. I finally felt like getting out of bed this morning.
