After my black shouldered peacocks woke me up this morning with their calling, I would say that they are pretty loud, but they at least sound like a goose instead of a woman screaming, which I understand some varieties can sound like.

I suspect that the volume is going to be affected by the time of day - in the middle of the night or with a low cloud cover - sound travels much further

According to "The Peafowl of the World" by Josef Bergmann, the Blue Indian peafowl have a loud and harsh "hiau", while the Green varities of Asia cry "pavo" or "hiao" less frequently and in a deeper and quieter tone than that of the Blue.

Good Morning Okies,

I've been reading and trying to get ready for work. Being my first day back I didn't have to go in for PT.

P&B, there is more to be said about that Magic Van. Kinda reminds me of Tom Terriffic and his bag of tricks. Remember that one?

Puresilk, I will check the consignments for our sale and let you know if we get any on the listings,

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Okies.

I get to finish what I started yesterday. Brooders will be completely moved and cleaned today. Then with any luck I will get to move chicken pens. Maybe I can get the lawnmower fixed too so I can mow the lawn, it is so tall and driving me crazy.

This is why I will not touch a saw. Be Careful Al! And Laura is right, you should have went to the ER. Take better care of yourself!

Al, YOU be careful.

OMG, Laura should have kicked you butt for NOT having gone to ER.

now Al! What part of medical emergency do you NOT understand?? yes- you should have gone, do we need to come down there to make sure you take care of yourself???? its not just the initial injury- its the possibility of infection and possibly being a worse situation

, no long term damage except to my image of being safety minded. The ER thing is over rated and I just didn't want to sit for hours in the waiting room when I could do just as good with my own first aid kit, which is huge and very well equiped. I will be just fine I am a tad bit tougher than I look, the pinky finger will look a little funny for awhile but i can sculpt it back into shape within a few months. I still have to work and show the crew's that the boss isn't whinny sissy girly man LOL, construction workers are funny that way LOL.

So are you planning to do something else with a pocket knife to "sculpt the pinkie" back into shape.

I understand the tough construction worker image . . . but it isn't being a sissy to sew body parts back on within the 4 hour window when you have the most chance of being successful at reattachment because the skin hasn't died.
