Everybody builds things differently and for different problems they are having. We built ours after seeing YonderOak's tractors. They are a little different in measurement but basically the same. I looked at alot of tractors before deciding what we wanted.

I look forward to seeing your pics!

This is where we are so far this evening. Still need to finish painting, wire mesh, add the doors, the trim, 2 wheels and shingles...then finally ready for the new residents...

It's 6' long, 24" wide at the base, 32" at the roof edge and 52" tall. The coop is basically 24"x 36" not including nest box area.

Another nice looking coop . Good job there bfrancis! Boy you all are really showing off. I'm going to have to do some spruceing up with mine before I let my wife see all these nice coops!

We had a late evening strom come up,hard rain, wind and lighting. Blew my and my neighbors corn patches over. Guess I'll try and stand it back up in the morning, hope its not ruined. The neighbors was starting to tassle.

Buster that was quite a story . At least you were able to keep a sense of humor about it all!Like you said just make sure you don't make that neighbor mad!lol

Evening Wayne : I know all these folks showing off all their cool little coops & tractors makes me feel like I need to go and do some sprucing up or building or something to that effect

Yeah me too! I haven't grown corn before ,wonder if it will straighhten up on its on or not?
You would need a pretty big a-frame coop for them cornish and white rocks!lolI am sure likeing my little white rocks, the chicks are so cute and grow so fast. The hens just keep putting out them eggs.I hope to have a good size flock next year.

Congrats on the anniversiary! We have one the 22 of this month,19 years. My daughters b-day is this month too. 26! wow where did time go.

Evening Everybody!

It seems like it is the time of year to get busy with all the projects we were not able to do because of the cold. Got a brooder done for Lisa yesterday and started another tonight to sell on Ebay or an auction, just depends what the heat and air guys says tomorrow about my air conditioner compressor. If the compressor I am going to
hit.gif
. I hope it just needs freon at least that is what I am praying for.

Got a couch today, which I am totally excited about. It is used but is in really nice shape, has a hide-away bed and matches my livingroom which is white with textured moss green color and pine wood trim (which I did all by myself).

So who all is going to Newcastle Saturday. Just to let you all know I am only going cuz I want those bourbon red turkeys and am calling dibs on them. If I do not get my tom a girl soon he is not going to live much longer. Stupid bird flogged the snot out of my legs last week and I am still sore and bruised. My daughter has already called dibs if I do end up whacking him. Although with him being nearly 35lbs I do not think he would fit in her oven in one piece. She says that is not a problem.

All the chicken tractors you guys are building is getting me motivated to get my other coop put together and modify the one I have. Installing windows I think will help with light and ventilation. I still need to buy a couple of those automatic chicken door openers (cuz I am lazy and want to sleep on my days off) and with the fence panels I will have the chicken yard looking awsome. Of course my assistant was laughing at me when he found some of my drawings of the chicken yard.

Well heat and air guy is supposed to be here between 8 and 10. Hey does anyone know how to change out an air conditioner? I may have to buy a used unit and swap out the old one if the compresser is bad. Called around and a compresser is around $500-900 and that is more then I can afford but have found several used units on craigslist for alot less just not sure how to do it. Guess I could do like Buster did and check Youtube.

Off to bed I go. You all have a good night!

Nice Coop!!!

Rise and shine you guys, what do you think your on summer vacation or what!lol WE got a couple of inches of rain last night. I tried to restand the corn but it won't do it. Give it a day or two and if it doesn't I guess I'll pull it and replant while there is still time.

It is like a sauna outside. This humidity is so hard on the baby chicks and young birds.Hope the grass drys soon so I can finish the yard mowing. I was half done when the strom hit yesterday.

Morning all you lurkers,I hear you breathing and slurping coffee,(ice tea for me)jump in here!lol
