Jaxon told me on the way home (before he crashed and slept the entire way home) that yesterday had been one of the best days of his life. He got roller shoes (too big actually, but you can't be picky at a garage sale) and he got to shoot off fireworks. He was one happy and tired camper. Thanks for giving him the pig anatomy lesson. I could see his eyes get really big when you told him the nose was good to eat.
LOL yeah I like to mess with the little ones as everybody already knows, the last time I did a pig I cut the nose off and wore it over mine and chased the kids making piggy noises while they ran away squeeling and laughing, I think I have more fun than they do heheheheh.

You sound like a woman who thinks like I do. I am not saying that is always a good thing, but it sure is fun.
My college age son is actually the one who wants to know why I acquired more critters. After 27 years of marriage, my husband just shakes his head and builds another shelter.
My other philosophy is "what he doesn't know, won't annoy him." I try to protect him from unnecessary stress - by just putting things away so they are not in his way

No, he built me another flight pen this week so that he can go visit an out of state friend without feeling guilty. I am just going to do "research" on the Alex auction to learn if it is one that he would enjoy attending in the future. I already know that he likes visiting with everyone at the Blanchard auction - but doesn't enjoy sitting through 5+ hours of poultry being the only thing on the auction block. My attendance at the Jones "junk" auction is the one that would scare him to death if he knew ahead of time that I plan to attend. The last time I went, which was several years ago, he had to go get the stock trailer to get my purchases home and then had to take the basketball goals to the Luther thrift shop because we didn't actually need them ourselves but they were a "great buy"
The Jones junk sale is next Sunday. Get there early to find parking though! Last month there were two auctioneers going at it still took to about 5pm to get through everything.
The original lines of Marans had feathered legs but breeders through time have all but bred that out of them (probably due to out-crossing). Here is the web site of the real deal.
I think I will lay around some and be lazy, Seems I had my 4 th yesterday LOL. I have been running and gunning lately and Laura thinks I am just the guy that shows up late at night just to sleep LOL.
I am going to feed critters, set Jaxon up with the Nickelodean TV channel (whenever he wakes up) and take a nap. Don't know when hubby will be home from McAlester - depends on when the grandson is released from the hospital today. I am not going to worry about fixing a traditional 4th of July meal.
Last year, college age son was in Europe July 4 - doing a summer study program. He really missed the 4th of July celebrations and being around folks who understand why we celebrate. I will rely on the oldest son to feed his college age brother large quantities of smoked meat.
