Renia~~

So glad you got to have a bit more time with Doc before he had to depart...what a special blessing that is!

Hang in there girl...we are all here if you need us!

I am so glad that I am not the only one that stars in do-it-yourself oopsies! I have had my share of bad ones, and they keep me laughing (that's what FunChicks do!) but it is completely worth it when you discover and create something that really works and saves time and money!

Sorry Lynn, I got lost in it all.

I have been dealing with some kid issues myself today.
Well I tried to mow but it is waaaay too wet so came in for a drink of H20 and now I am heading out in a bit to figure out what is going to the auction.
Later,
Monty

Maybe a mink or even a rat. Is it possible for something like that to get in?

I suppose it is technically possible. There might be enough space between the net and chicken wire fence to let a mink in. I didn't see any bite marks... just 2 dead birds in the coop. I'm almost beginning to suspect my neighbor. the mason jar feeder was knocked over too.

Bear boards work well for the two legged predators.

Quick post before heading out the door to the auction.

Tell Doc when you talk to him next we are all thinking about him. Give Montana a big hug for me.

Carla glad you are off this weekend and getting to come to the auction.

Funchick - take it easy like Carla and Gerald I had that stuff as well and was sick for two months. Don't start trying to do to much at first it will only cause you to have a set back and that is most frustrating part.

I was

with all the chicken punts you guys were throwing around. Gave me something to crow about. hehehe

Speaking of something to crow about, so I am cleaning the coop out and next to the coop I have a plastic cabinet I store supplies in. Well I had some plastic bags in the bottom that had gotten a bit of rain on them so I was getting them out when I found a 6ft+ black snake.

First instinct is to go get the gun but I refrained and grabbed a bucket instead and caught him in there. In general I do not have a problem with snakes unless they are near my chickens then there is a big problem. The funny thing was while I was trying to get the stupid snake in the bucket and the lid on the chickens all got really quite and as soon as I got the lid all of my roosters started crowing at the same time. It was really cute.

Well got the babies I am taking to the auction loaded up and getting ready to head out.

For all of you going to Blanchard auction see ya there for those who can not make it. You will be missed and we will buy each of you a rooster.

Here's their craigslist ad. You never know what will be there ... just depends on what people bring. But, we're taking chicks, hatching eggs, eating eggs, turkey poults and fresh veggies.

You can probably do a google search of their address to get directions there. I can get there, but I'm not good at telling anyone else how to get there.

Wish I could make it, but to be honest I don't NEED to now! Just brought home a truckload of birds from luv2bmemaw2. It was a good visit with Donna, and Claremore is a LOT closer for me than Blanchard. Getting home at 1am makes it tough to get up for church in the morning. And since I teach youth and run sound, they kinda wander aimlessly around when I'm not there.
I'll try to catch up with ya'll.
BTW, replaced my Buff laced Polish, and Silkies, and added some Mille Fleur's and some more basic egg layers to the bunch. Been a long time since all 5 pens were full.

Thanks for the link. I see by the start time that I'd already be a bit late....do you know how late they ususally run? I'd like to stop by but I'd hate it to be over before I got there.

During the summertime the auctions run longer...sometimes until 2am! It just depends on how quickly the auctioneer is able to keep things moving and how much stuff people bring...ya just never can tell!
