Sorry I missed you as well! I made it for a while. Came in around 7:00 and left around 9:30. My husband, daughter and I sat towards the back. Can't sit with the leg down for too long and had run a few too many errands prior to getting there. I will be more prepared next time.

Drew is very interested in going back. We just got a new-to-us used garden tractor and he is thinking about taking his old one to the auction. It needs a little bit of work but still has some life in it for someone. He was also thrilled to see the shotguns....he'd be back just on the premise that there could possibly be a good shotgun by there.

I'd like to get a couple of cuckoo maran hens but would sure like to meet up with someone there that could help me know what to look for. Want to make sure I get good ones. Was very interested in the feather-footed ones that they had last night but we didn't get a number and as it was our first auction, it took me a bit to figure out the whole bidder's choice and x's or 8 thing. I was really confused at first, but then the light came on.

You guys will have to post some pics so I will know who to look for next time.

Look for folks wearing T-shirts with roosters on them. Several of us were wearing them last night and I think you walked right by us, at the table in back where we were sitting. Is your knee brace black and your daughter fairly young? The shirts are neon green or light blue or navy blue and say "People of Oklahoma Poultry Swap" around the rooster. Some of would have LOVED to help you bid at the auction. It is much more fun to spend someone else's money.

That was us!! Good to know about the shirts! I'll be on the look out. I love spending someone else's money too! Sadly, I haven't found anyone that has any yet!

Hi Michael!

What's on everyone's menu tonight? We are BBQ'ing tri tip steak (it's a CA thing) and homegrown veggie packets and sliced tomatoes with basalmic...OOOooooo!

I am going to try and drag my carcass in to work tomorrow. Good for the pocketbook but not so great for recovery. Although I managed to make it through today without feeling like I had to lay down...maybe I really AM on the mend!

Beth...if you are a baby for needing to go to bed at 9, then so am I!! My bedtime is about 8:30...but my alarm is set for 5am. I just can't function well unless I get enough sleep. That way when the alarm goes off in the morning I don't feel as much like a carcass!

Well at lest I'm not the only one that goes to bed early. I try to get the kids to bed by 9 and I'm there shortly after. Sometimes I don't even wait for the kids. That is what husbands are for, right?

Ah, no worries! I'll find you guys the next time. Ya know, for some reason, I was expecting a raucous group of folks that you could spot from a mile away.

Something much like my own family!

I wonder where I got that idea?

Hey All!

Last night was way to late for this big pumpkin. Oooh I am still not feeling well. Too much caffine and junk food makes for bad headache.

Al, Renia and the rest of you who were not able to attend we missed you. Sorry to say you all missed some good deals. Michael it was good
you did not come to Blanchard last night cuz you are like the rest of us and can not pass up a deal. Ok having said that I did pass on some deals
but stuck to my plan and it paid off.

When you guys go auctioning, do you all normally sit together at a table? I need to know what to look for next time. I can't wait!

At the Blanchard auction a group of us sit at a table in back. At the Fletcher auction, we tend to be less congregated, but there are still some of us wearing the shirts with roosters. Look for t-shirts with a big rooster profile on the front. Not everyone wears them, but you know for sure that someone who IS wearing one is a participant in this thread on BYC

This should help you out. This years shirts:
