So what do you guys think about crossing my dark cornish roo's With my Plymouth barred rock hens and vise versa? Trying to get a cornish cross that Grows in at least 10-12 weeks Without having to pull my pockets out to some hatchery?

I guess the same way a wet dog can be less than 1/2 its original size, the loose hair can expand to make extra dogs

Any idea on the approximate age of the hens? There were some folks here looking for laying flock and as I recall a couple of them wanted them to be from NPIP stock. I would be willing to take my NPIP testing supplies to Fletcher if any of the BYC folks wanted to buy hens and needed them tested.

First off I have been very good and have not started the incubator up once this season, bought eggs at the auction or intentionally tried to hatch any eggs via broodies. Even Maribeth can vouch for my not buying eggs even when everyone knew I wanted them. I was on ebay last night and they had salmon favorelles eggs at a really good price so I bid and won the auction and bid on another set today.
Admittly I am weak, it was a moment of insanity. Well actually can you call it a moment if the boughts go on continously? Kinda like this ----->

My plan is to stuff them under one of the million broody hens I have in the coop right now. Oh so there is actually only 4 broody hens right now but it is getting really old. Of course my luck I get the eggs and they all decide hatching is not what they are in the mood for. Stupid birds

A little perspective is in order. In video 3 or 4 he said the Flu was never as lethal as H5N1. Sorry, gotta call bulls**t on that one. the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918 caused 50 million deaths (3% of the global population which would be 300 million if it broke out today).

I don't like the industrial farming methods, but I especially don't like being played for a chump by environmentalists who lie like the "scientist" in that film.

I will call the hospital tomorrow and see if Stimp is still there or if he has gone home. I intented to go by and visit with Lou the week after his initial surgery, but life got in the way of my good intentions.

It sounds like you still haven't turned on an incubator, so why not have your broodies hatch something worth while? I have a broody black sex link whose eggs didn't hatch a few weeks ago so I put some new ones under her. This evening, I took some from the incubator and switched them out with the ones under her, so she can hatch out more quickly than waiting on the second set to hatch. She has been on the nest long enough.

A few years ago I had a broody hen who had only been sitting on her eggs for about 10 days. I had an order from the hatchery arrive and put those chicks under her and pulled the eggs. She accepted them as chicks she had hatched, but it sure played havoc with her hormones and she was a few days getting her bowels back to normal.

Since she couldn't count, she didn't try to figure out how she originally only had a dozen eggs and suddenly had 25 chicks locked in a a secure area with her. She just acted like a harried mother of too many children.

P.B the guy said alot of the hen's wer sexlink's fresh from the farm an he has alot of baby ginny's...he is take'n to the sale...He said he was going to put thim in pet tax with wood chip's an bag's of ice to keep thim cool...
