Another day begins! Ready, set, GO! Checking the incubator each morning and finding a guinea chick or two from the egg mountain that I pulled a guinea hen off of about ten days ago. Dean told me there is another nest of guinea eggs in the weeds along a fence line. I will look for those tomorrow and put them in the incubator. Also have Americauna X chicks hatching from all the eggs I put into the incubator when the chickens were wormed and we couldn't eat the eggs for two weeks. Would someone please

me the next time I mention setting "mutt' eggs in the incubator? On the other hand, my blue/red Americauna roo died of heat stroke last week, so hopefully some of these mutt chicks will have his blue coloring. Good thing I got a backup blue/red roo from Monty a few weeks ago. . . . Along with some blue NN roosters.

Good Morning....

Waiting on coffee to make. I have got to start setting the auto brew on that coffee pot...lol

I thought I got the cricket this morning, but he had back up. Theres another one singing this morning.

Oh Well, His days a coming. And are very numbered.

I am getting about about 12-15 eggs a day right now. Guess the temperature drop has helped.

I had a Golden laced cochin setting, but none of her eggs hatched and she kicked them out of the nest.

I put more under her but I guess she was done, cause she kicked those out as well.

My dad is having surgery today on his colon. Please keep him in your thoughts. I'm really nervous! My mom died 5 years ago because of surgery so I'm a wreck!

I'm sure glad it's my Friday have a busy next few days planned, on the agenda is getting the storage building moved from the In-laws, and set up as my next coop,

rework some more old rabbit

cages and build stands for them and get roofs over the rest of the rabbits before we actually do get some rain

Good Morning Hope everyone had a restfull night and no loss of birds due to the creatures of the night. Ya know why they come out at night right.. because they do their job in secret so they dont get caught.. why else do racoons have eye masks... ha ha

I did not get any sleep.. the baby was really fussy all night and didnt want to rest... I think its because Jason was home because there is no other thing I can think of that would cause her to be up all night even after a bottle and bum change and rocker... Say the least I am functioning on what ever reserve I do have... ha ha.
