I spent all day Getting my slaughter area prepared yesterday. And It seems I would have to save money for the fletcher auction. Blanchard auction falls right at pay time so Its easy to save havent yet had time to spend it. LOL How much longer of a drive is fletcher? Wish I could have gotten my hands on at least a few. On a good note. I got my first few eggs its been one a day. I need all the girls to start laying now I have about 40 girls that are running behind schedule and 35 more that arent far behind.
I really wanted to post pictures of my new stuff I built and my processing from start to finish but this new temp phone doesnt let me upload them

I am just glad I finally reached good weights to be able to process the heat really affected there growth there for a while. My test subject cornish are doing twice as good as the first batch. I am looking for them to be ready to go at 10 -12 weeks. I know cornish x usually take 4-6 weeks but I free range mine so I lose some of that caged weight gain but IMO there alot healthier then The first group I tried off and on to pen.

Blanchard is only about a 30 minute drive at the most from Fletcher.

Morning Okieland, how is everyone this fine morning. I am awake & working on coffee, boy do I needed it, me & John Wayne stayed up to late last night.

Yonderoak if you pop on here do you happen to have an barred cochins that are 3 months or so???

Perhaps I can try to schedule fletcher auction as well then? Maybe use it as my sell spot an d blanchard as my buy spot I will see what I can accomplish I wish I could attend all the auctions.
Q your town is in our prayers as well.

These guys just hatched last night. So far it looks like I have every color: Pharaoh, Tibetan, White, Manchurian Golden, and even one little Tuxedo. Not sure how many of them there are yet, I'll have to wait until I'm sure the hatch is done so I can count eggshells.

If you don't have quail, you don't know what you're missing!

Good day all : Heck of a night last night !!!!!!!!!!! The local hometown rodeo was going well until Alyssa's little knucklehead boyfriend got hung up on his bull and went for a wild ride, he's Ok though desite his dented pride LOL. Then we were greeted by a huge 30 minute deluge of heavey cold rain, it turned the rodeo grounds into a big muddy mess and it got my hot dog all wet Dang it !!. So I took Laura by the arm and headed to the truck, I walk kinda fast and she looked like she was ice skating next to me as we stood there soaking wet, covered in mud and laughing like little kids. After a hot shower and getting into our old persons lounge wear we settled in for the night. We left Alyssa at the rodeo because she wanted to stay.

Afternoon Everyone, was sure hoping to get some of the rain that came through but it never made it here, I watched a good thunderstorm pass less than a mile to the north of my place and it headed around to the east side of here we didn't get a drop, I swiped a pic from the farmville forums thought I'd share it with you all kina cool LOL Hope everyone has a great day, I'm off to spend the day out in the yard again

Moving chicks around today so that I will have room for those hatching this week. Some cages have small enough wire to contain new chicks and need to keep moving them up to cages with larger guage wire and larger areas as they grow, so I will have the smaller guage cages for the newest ones. Going to move the peachicks I got from Carla and Gerald into a larger cage today. I can't believe how much they have grown in just a week!

Had an "odd" thing happen in the cage that held the black spanish and cochin chicks I got at Blanchard last week. I had moved them to a larger cage, but this morning 5 of the 8 black spanish are dead and one black spanish doesn't look very "thrifty." The cochins in the same cage seem to be doing fine. Go figure.

I am going to worm all of them and see if the last 3 spanish can be saved.

Al - wish we had a video of you marching Laura through the rain and mud. Laughter is a good thing.

Kwartel - nice chick pictures.

Thanks, everyone, for posting your info and stories about the recent auctions. Next time I get to go, I'll be traveling in style. I just inherited Granddad's old farm truck. It's a Ford F100, with three on the tree, and dad just put a set of new tires on it. I have to hold it in second gear (it drops into neutral at odd times), but the rest of the gears are fine. The gas gauge always reads empty, so I'm going to have to keep track of my mileage. It's got just enough hail damage and rust to make it the quintessential farm truck. I'm going to drive it to work tomorrow to surprise my students.
