City if you have a gravel drive you can put the walnuts in it and drive over them a few days and that will hull them for you. Just be sure when you are dealiong with the hulled or partialy hulled ones to wear gloves, preferably rubber ones. They stain real bad!Invest in a good nut cracker, saves the fingers!lol. Nothing better for ice creame or brownies than walnut goodies!

The squirrels have planted me a row of walnut trees in the border of my drive so I am leaveing them. Who needs bradford pears when you can have walnuts. Besides I figure by the time they are big enough to be a nuisance I won't be around anyway!lol. Pesky squirrels forget where they are because every flower bed has one or two comming up in it. I usually transplnat them. I grew up under towering shadey walnut trees so I like them. The leaf twigs are great for pigeon nest also!

We have spent the day going thru the wifes office and packing her stuff up. She will be there a few more weeks but we wanted to get her stuff out in case they decide to let her take her vacation days before leaving. That woman can sure accumulate a lot of stuff! And she has the nerve to question how many chickens I have!lol

I set another hen this morning against my better sense! I just couldn't resist the opportunity to get a few more turkens and wyanndotte babies. The wayanndotte babies are by far the cutest when they feather out. They are literally round balls with feet!

Thanks Monty and Wayne and Al - I've been outside hitting older walnuts with a hammer, but most of the meat in those is dried up. I have quite a few green-hulled ones, and running over them in the driveway is a popular method of hulling! Too late on the "wear gloves" advice - my fingers are already stained....

Monty - I've been offered several tens of thousands of dollars for one of my trees (shown in the photo below). Of course, it's the nicest straightest one and it shades the henhouse and run cooler in the afternoon. The one in the front yard has kind of a twisted trunk, and I don't think anyone's ever seen the two down back since I cleared that land in the past 5 years.

Wayne - will go look for the rabbit/snake video!

I will soon head out to the fowl condo, it's that time to take a few pic's of my top secret meat bird breeding project, I am hoping they stand still for me.

Beth them are some pretty trees have you thought about taking a branch and graphing it into a new baby tree... had a friend back in CO that did that with her good trees.... and they grew wonderfully.

YourLinkGoesHere Yeah but City with several tens of thousands you could have an air conditioned , top of the line, Mr. Al fabricated , henhouse!
