The buildings at the State Fair in OKC are open until 10 pm Friday and Saturday and until 9 pm on Sunday.

If you want to see things inside the buildings, it shouldn't be too bad - even on a Friday night. If you want to do the food stands and the Midway - it will be crazy.

The buildings open at 10 am on Saturday and Sunday.

Be sure to go by the City of AGtropolis - located in the Oklahoma Expo Hall - they have educational displays regarding bees, chickens (a tent with chickens in it and some Q&A), hatching chicks, rabbits, butterflies and some farm animals.

I know that feeling. I've had to make up projects and come up with places that I needed to go just to get out of the house. I realized that I was doing the same amount of nothing everyday and it felt like my brain was just turning to mush. I had to start making lists of things that I needed or wanted to do or I would just veg out and look back at my day wondering where it went.

This may be why I have so many quail now. Hatching is always good for a quick fix and it's legal. If the authorities only knew, they would be here to impound my birds and send me to rehab.

I finally got my baby chicks from Meyer Hatchery. Here are some pics of the girls, they are all EE's (stated amarucana's but............) Any way these are my first ever chickens and I am excited and proud of them so fair warning there are a few pics to follow!!!! If anyone could help me out w/ what color the adults might be I'd appreciate it, the ones I'm most concerned w/ are the yellow, never occured to me before to wonder what color yellow chicks grow up to be? And there is one in the mix that looks a little blueish I was really hoping she would be some form of blue/silver.

Way to Go Wayne! We all are so excited for your family. As someone who spent several years of my younger life in Oklahoma and then the rest in West Texas I couldn't wait to get back to Oklahoma. We have been here 40 years this time and plan to stay.
