Moses is back!
I have been gone a few days while we had some computer gurus clean up the computer. I guess we picked up a virus when BYC was hacked a few weeks ago. Using BYC was a nightmare. I could still get to some other places like facebook but overall it took forever just to log on and check messages.
Everythng is supposedly all fixed.
I haven't read a post for two days so I will see how long it takes me to catch up.

Here is a note I got from a friend who is a school librarian. She made a fun video last year.
If you like it please vote!
Thanks Monty

"My "Chicken Butt" video is a finalist on School Library Journal's 1st-ever Book Trailer awards, The Trailies! I didn't even know it was nominated! So COOL! Go to this site to watch the nominees and vote!
(P.S. "Chicken Butt! is a good choice!)"

BarnSwallow - glad you got your birds housed so they're safe while you work out your boundary issues with the neighbors. Know that the time you invest in your property will pay you back later. There's nothing like sitting on your porch, drinking coffee, and enjoying what you see around you.

I'll be at the poultry show at the state fair on Saturday. I've convinced my husband to go, which is a minor miracle. I'm going to take my camera because I expect to see some really nice birds. I'll post them when we get back. Maybe next year I'll have a few birds nice enough to enter. Does anyone have a favorite book on showing birds? There are several out there, and I'd like to get one that others think is worth reading.

Well it was a long morning of testing the tests are in route to stillwater, I think I have Proved the theory of the 3 deadly outbreaks to be not so deadly. I Know this will put a damper on sales from my yard as I am an honest person who dont cover anything up. So I guess you can look at this 2 ways. I am a flock owner who has had some problems with birds getting sick Which I refused to re release into the public fo consern that I want to be serious member to NPIP I dont ever want to sell or auction sick and unhealthy birds, Your flocks health and security is just as important to me than mine is. there for if you see me selling anything you can rest assured I sell good healthy Stock that is maintained and treated with serious measures of security. to assure the most healthy happy Birds I can.
Or you can assume that like alot of people,my birds are sick and no good and I am gonna take them to the auction to pawn them off,
Thats not what I got into this business for. It upsets me someone would take there sick Birds to an auction with no consern of others. I will post results once I am in the clear after proving my theorys to the state doctor he couldnt disagree with me fowl cholera is what I have on this yard famous to hit broiler birds. I have every symptom related to it and its easly cured with a sulfa drug. I am almost 99% positive that its what I have because each bird infected is a cornish cross and each bird infected has swollen pads out breaks occure in cold and wet weather quick weather change conditions can surface it. swollen joints, respitory, and swollen joints are a few of the symptoms carried with this. Me and NN breeder spent hours last night researching everything we would and it all points to FC.
I feel confident in my measures of security I was quick to get a handle on it. I got it contained and I have taken extreme measures to disinfect 5 acres of land not missing a crack. I have dumped 50 gallons of rocall-D plus on every structure inside and out bar ditches trees roofs land Perimitors so we shall See what the test results are this evening and Go from there. I have had alot of people say I shouldnt be telling anyone this. (I call BS) Everyone should know, Everyone deserves the right to know, And everyone should also learn from this as I have. I hope that you all Understand I am only trying to do the right thing here. and keeping things under the rug is bad for business. hope everyone has a good day I am gonna go try to catch up on some needed rest and wait for my results.

Well it is sad when you have to basically do the research for the state vet. However, having said this they don't have the time to do it to the fullest of their ability...they might want to but want and reality are two very different things. I would trust NNBreeder to the fullest....between the two of you I know you left no stone unturned with the research. NN is so full of chicken knowledge it is scary but he saved my little lucky bird so as far as I'm concerned that man is brilliant and so are you for working with and brainstroming your way through this mess and not allowing yourself to get bogged down beneath it. I can't remember who it was that said this once but here goes...cool calm heads prevail....and maintaining your head in the face of danger is paramount! I'm very proud of you! And your right being up front and honest wins out everytime...hiding something gets you into the mess like that one guy who owns those chicken egg farms and hid his stuff until people died from salmonella, now that man is in very deep trouble with the government.
