I will be there front and center Bringing some very nice pekin meat ducks and Some Brown Chinese geese lots of production reds and white leghorns. Some WPR and BPR chicks. Some RIR roo's Some game bantams and maybe some RIR chicks I could use some more nest boxes also But I might just buy some from you MichealI need enough boxes for 200 layers LOL

Funny thing I was catching up on posts and went to see Matts kitty cat and was going to add this to his thread

Good job looking out for your peeps! If the grass was growing up in front of it then it's probably not active most any critter will beat down a path to their door if they're using it much That looks more like an old armadillo burrow they dig a LOT of holes that other animals end up using and now is a good time to take them all fattened up for the winter they aren't indigenous to North America so no closed season and not protected here in Oklahoma and they taste really good
They are insectivores so meat is clean just don't gut shoot them it makes a mess cause they eat a lot of ants but you can still eat them just tell your guests it's pepper LOL, They are a lot like pork and make great BBQ. Easy to trap just set a couple boards leading to the trap they will be guided right in. If something other than an armadillo lives there they will just hop over the boards so you'll know.
Then thought I'd rather post it here and found that I wasn't he first to mention armadillos LOL

Little known facts about Armadillos:
They always have 4 young and all 4 are either all male or all female (true)
They actually don't taste like chicken (or turtle) They are a lot like pork (very true) this one I know for sure

Contrary to popular myth they don't carry leprosy (true) the disease affects them the same as humans and they are used as research animals for it.
In Oklahoma the scientific name for them is Asidedaroadeous Deadeous (could be true)?
And finally, Armadillos are born on the road dead and live life in reverse, Which explains why in less than a week after one has torn the muffler loose from your car it mysteriously disappears. (probably not true)

Just set some quail eggs in the empty incubator. Hoping to get some nice colors out of these and some more of my big Tibetans. After looking at other people's egg candling pics, I was sure that the other incubator I have full of chicken eggs was a bust. I cracked one to do an eggtopsy and ended up committing murder instead. Totally awful, but I'm glad I didn't just unplug the whole thing and throw the rest of the eggs out.

Monty. I can atest to how high they can jump, I startled one once and it must have jumped six feet high, when I was a kid I snuck up on one and popped a five gallon bucket over it and it bout beet me to deathe befor I could get off the buckett to let it go!!!! LOL Lynn

am still lurking some, i love the quiet mornings - no one up- except me and the guinea chicks that live in the livingroom in a rabbit cage- i need to figure out a better cage for them- scooter the disabled guinea won't ever be able to run, and in seeing how he is going, doubt he'll ever be able to perch, so his little life will be different than most guineas- he scoots around in the cage, plays with the other one, his wings are fine- but his backward leg really is creepy- he uses that foot like a hand- and when they have their out of the cage playtime, he can move really fast considering his condition- the other one thinks he is a parrot and likes to sit on your shoulder, go figure- always wondered if they could be socialized... hopefully they won't ever feel threatened and let loose the famous guinia warnings! will post pics later
