Vesta survived all the hugging and kissing offered by the vet staff yesterday. She had her puppy shots and a thorough checkup. I've got worming paste to give her in a few days. I hope it's flavored so that she wants to take it. She ventured into the teen chicken pen with me early this morning. She was calm, didn't chase anyone, and didn't have to be told not to sample the chicken feed. She's learning quickly!
Our cairn terrier, Conner, had a growth removed from his elbow yesterday. He's hobbling around, not putting much weight on that leg, so he's tolerating the pain well. Last night was rough, though, as he couldn't find a comfortable position for sleeping. He woke me several times to take him outside. I know it's probably paranoid of me, but I put him on a leash at night to walk him in our fenced yard. I'm concerned our resident owl could carry him off.
Is a group meeting at Harrah before the auction? Do they have a concession stand? If it's as cold as I think it will be, some hot coffee or hot cocoa will be necessary. I want to come visit with everyone. I'm surrounded by underdeveloped frontal lobes all day, so I'm craving some chicken talk with adults.
