The one in the center of the last pic looks like its smileing! Look how their ears are still pinned back! That is so cool. Nothing cuter than babys just born..Of any species!

The Pryor show is always bantams only--at least in the several years I've been involved. This is always a nice show.

If you have birds for sale, this might be a good place to sell them. The sales area is in the same room as the show, and then cages are generally only $1 each, if I recall correctly. There usually aren't a lot of birds for sale, so it's a good place for me to sell.

Are you sure the are freezing. I have not had any problems with my eggs freezing. I an getting 4 to 5 a day right now.

They were cracked about 1 in long and 1/16 wide and semi solid on the inside, today just fine.

LOL LOL LOL She is about 500 lbs. and I think she had nine, one was dead and there are I think four b/w and four r/b/w but not sure. she is a good momma and has raised me I think 6-7 litters. may breed her one more time and then cull her, she is the color I like, I have kept two red/black spot guilts from two seperate litters out of her as replacement sows. One is in with my boar now. She(The momma sow) is mostly Spot from a Berk line and has about 1/8th Doroc and1/8th Chester in her. The two guilts I kept out of her are from a Brother/Sister mating and selected for color and length. The boar I have now is from a Pure Spot sow and the Brother to the red sow. So he carries a half the bloodline in the Sow which makes him 7/8ths Spot and 1/16th each of Duroc and Chester. Confused yet???? I breed what I like and for what I want out of them and try not to inbreed too much but not loose my bloodlines I like. My idea hog color is a red base with small black spots and white point markings on legs, nose and tail tip. That is what the two guilts look like. I am breeding for length also as I like lots of Bacon!!!!! NOW as for my Lemon Blue chickens! I will line breed back father/daughter and son/mother and select for color(Lemon Blue) with NO topknot because they are out of my Toppies and I may start a line of Lemon Blue Toppies out of them also. We will see how it goes but they are my corner stones of the breeding line. Below is pics of their parents. Lynn

Sooner,
Do you want Bantam SF or LF SF? I saw Bantams at the Shawnee show and
love.gif

Rebecca (Muesky) really wants some too.
Are those chicks with your LF Partridge Cochin partridge chicks? My Bantams just hatched and they are "chipmunk" colored.

Nope she hatched out polish chicks & a polish X Cochins LOL. She is the only cochin in the pen & I don't even remember why she was in there I think she tried to go broody & I put her in there to break her only to have her start setting a few weeks later & I didn't stop her this time. I have since re-homed those chicks.

Good evening everyone!

I am just checking in. Been a while since I have really had the time to sit down at BYC.

Enjoyed my time spent over christmas with my Husband. It was just too short.

Welcome to all the Newbies! Sorry such a late welcome.

I am sitting here with a cup of coffee in hand which is a bad mistake this time of the night. So I guess I will be
awake a while. It didnt use to keep me awake, but about the last 3 months, it keeps me awake for ever.

Hope everyone is staying warm and keeping the chickens warm as well.

Well, I am starting to get busy for the sale this weekend. I hope we have a big crowd, but you know how winter time is.

Peaches
