Sure glad to see the warm weather coming,, Talk about spring time the col. rock was king of the hill this last cold spell the barred rock brother's put him on the run ..
Met a real nice guy from Ardmore sat night at Blanch sale an bot some of his weaton o.e's in the auction's he said he had got his stock from Jarvis ..
I think that's right any way..

Macy hasnt cot anything in a week but wer going to a new spot this weekin...Got some Giant Homer's from the pres of the club this weekin.

Are those chicks with your LF Partridge Cochin partridge chicks? My Bantams just hatched and they are "chipmunk" colored.

Nope she hatched out polish chicks & a polish X Cochins LOL. She is the only cochin in the pen & I don't even remember why she was in there I think she tried to go broody & I put her in there to break her only to have her start setting a few weeks later & I didn't stop her this time. I have since re-homed those chicks.

Does letting a really broody hen hatch chicks break their broodiness?

Well yes in a natural way. Being broody is the hen wanting to sit a clutch of eggs & if she hatches she will raise them & therefor completely the cycle. Since she has no chicks she will start to lay again but when she reaches the end of this clutch she will try to go broody again. (hopefully in spring & with eggs that I want hatched under her)
