Babs had the babies out nursing so I was able to get a quick picture not the best piture but did not wanna stress momma. There is so much of her fur in the nest I am thankful so is not naked now.
Luvs2 I sent you another one. I apoligize if my previuos post wasn't clear. I am wanting to sell these birds not just rehome them. Sorry for any confusion. I had another email and then I reread my post and it said nothing of selling or prices.
I will edit it now.

Hey everybody! My daughter called me this evening and announced that I'm going to be a Grandma!
Anyway, this means a major life-changing event for me ... and the birds have got to go .... well, no more living in the house, that is.
I've got a major clean up of the house to do. If I start now, maybe I can have it spotless by April! And, I get to be babysitter during the day before I go to work!
I told Gerald we would have to have a major downsize, but his idea is to fix up a room in the barn to house the incubator and brooders. We'll see if that will work. The BIRDS CANNOT BE IN THE HOUSE ANYMORE!
(This is a repost of sorts. It was on the buy, sell, & trade thread but I thought I'd put it here, just to make sure as many Okies as possible see him)
I would dearly loooovve to keep him, but my neighbors are going to catch on soon, he crows a little from time to time now. Got him from Atwoods, no idea what kind he is, but he really is very, very pretty!(DOES ANYONE RECOGNIZE HIS BREED?) He's about 14-16 weeks old, hand raised, but still a banty roo LOL! Free ranges in our yard by day & sleeps in my brand new homemade tractor. Please contact thru post or email.
So far he is very good with my 16wk hen. He follows her everywhere, or at least stays very close by. He never pecks her, & he churtles or talks to her a lot. Oh, and He lets her sleep snuggled underneath him at night. (No signs of actual mating activity yet, but understand the roos grab the girls by the necks, not unlike cats do. YIKES!) What I really think is cool though, is when he stretches up to be as tall as possible, sticks his chest out & flaps his wings a few times, as if to say, "Look at me, aren't I beautiful" or lucky or something "cocky"like that.
I've not been around too many roos for very long. But apparently, from reading the posts on BYC, sometimes roos can get aggressive when mature. So far, none has shown up. He isn't exactly tame like my silkie babies, but can be bought for a few mealworms! LOL. He does eat feed or scratch from my or my 6 y/o girl's hand. We do pick him up(when we can catch him) & stroke his head & neck. He complains a teeny bit at first, but settles pretty fast.
My dtr and I have worked out a system where we just kind of corral them to go back in their cage-tractor after being out in the yard. We DON'T chase them, but just kinda walk them toward the cage. Most days they've been out long enough that they want to go right back home. But occasionally I'll have to corner the hen, put her up, & then he quite easily is encouraged to walk in the door to be with her.
I have tried to give you an accurate picture of some of his day to day behavior. I would dearly love for you and yours to meet him. No kidding, I like so many others here on the BYC will be taking him to Pel Freeze Processing in Rogers, Arkansas if I can't find him a good home. Which, I don't like but have resigned myself to do. It is just that he does seem to be nice, and he is especially pretty. I believe the way his feathers are marked is called "Lacing". Not 100% sure about that term, but I think it is when the feathers are outlined in a contrasting color. When his full tail and saddle feathers come in, he is going to be a KNOCK-OUT!! Well let me know, & maybe we can arrange something.
Oooooh, you have peacocks! I've just started with a trio of peachicks I bought at the Maud auction, a trio of peachicks I hatched from eggs from the Maud auction, and I have a pair of peachicks I recently hatched from eggs from a super nice Okie. I sure hope I can get an unrelated trio from these birds, but I'm not so sure the ones I bought at Maud are black shoulder peacock, althrough that's what I was told the trio of chicks was.
Are the Apenzellers from me? or Carla in Texas? I hear she has some beautiful birds, and would love to have some.
Wow, you have quite the flock of birds & critters and a two year old? Yes, you sound extremely busy!
Thanks, Carla... Yes they are your Apenzellers!!! They are awesome... I love them to death.... Well, if we have to trade peachics to get what you need, I am always here...
LOL>..... I just want one of everything... guess I am working on getting a pair of everything for Noah's ArK... LOL... Just wanted to share a pic of my new baby chinese painted button quail..
