Ahem:

DutchChic, did you really have to mention that you had Sebrights for sale

Now you've made me go and ask how much you are selling them for, and if they are show quality, and if there's any place we could meet up (poultry show?) and all that good stuff! lol

LOL...I forgot I had read that you asked me that recently. I can't tell you if they are SQ, but I can tell you they came from a breeder rather than a hatchery....at least that is what I was told by the person I got them from. I think they are pretty nice, but with my Dutch Bantam and Orpington projects, I just don't need these guys and I haven't taken the time to research them well enough to know what kind of quality they are. Besides, I'm looking at getting some birds from Carla...ha!
Anyway...here's what I've got:
1 Silver roo
5 Silver hens
2 Gold roos
7 Gold hens
I also have a gorgeous trio of Buff Laced Sebrights, but I think they are the prettiest and I want to try hatching some more of them next spring. Especially since they are harder to find.
Jeesh...how much? I guess I'd take $100 for the whole flock....or trade for breeding pens/rabbit hutches.

Grace, get Sebrights! You like Gold, right?

Carla, I guess I'm going to be needing to come get a Silkie chick from you, if you have any left. What colors do you have, and what are you asking for them? Unless you're wanting to sell/give away my Sultan chick with your bunch. *ha*

I think you definitely need a silkie chick buddy for your sultan. We have white, black, blue and partridge that just hatched yesterday, and have some that are a week old, too. Sultans and silkies look like pet birds, similar to cockatoos! so I think you could get away with keeping them as pets as long as you don't have roosters crowing!

Carla, thank you! I was thinking that a Sultan looked like a Cockatoo, too! And Silkies look like funny little dogs. The only neighbor who might see them is in his 90's, I don't think he'd even notice. *ha* I'm not sure which color I would want, decisions decisions... When could I come get one from you? I haven't even tried sexing the chick I have.

Let's meet this weekend. Gerald and I both are having to work overtime every day during the week and it's all we can do to get some sleep and feed the critters when we're at home, then go back to work. Maybe we could meet at Atwood's.

WOW!

You better get started building a bunch more pens.
What breeds did you get?
Also do you have any of the blue oeg roosters left? If you have an extra I need one.

The lady that gave me her birds will be back here this weekend and I will see, I am not sure at their age if a rooster or hen. Yes i have been building cages till I am blue. LOL. I have even built a few in my sleep.

I am learning what the different breeds are now. Again when she gets here I will have her sit down and tell yall what I have to sell off.

I got a trio of Wheaton OEG, a trio of white cochin, 2 red and 1 black cochin (she may be a blue and she is the only one laying of the cochins) 5 Seabrights. An Amaricauna roo, that is who I want the BR for. those are the ones I know for sure what they are. I will go out today and check asn see how many blue OEG's I have and get back to ya.
