Doing pretty good today. I have been using the walker mostly and am leaving the chair parked.

Well let's see there are two pheasant eggs that are waiting a fertility check, don't remember what breed. about 1/2 dozen Asil eggs and there are a few chicks in the brooder, both NN and feather necked.

You know that is funny. things taste different now. With my new glasses my vision has changed slightly and the ringing in my ears that went away years ago is back.

The wind is blowing at about 20 mph here. I wanted to put up a new tarp for one of my growout pens, but I think that's going to wait until tomorrow.

Donnie - Three pups sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you have time to enjoy them while they are little.

Good Morning Everyone!

Haven't been on here hardly at all in the past 3 weeks due to some health issues.

Finally got coop built for my 6 week old chicks! Put them in there yesterday. It was like sending a child to school for the first time. Once they got in there, it was like they didn't need Momma anymore.

There has been a lot of commercial construction around our area lately, so the entire coop was built from materials that had been doomed to the trash dumpster. We contacted project managers told them what we were building and asked if they had any material they were going to get rid of. I love the fact that we have a super looking coop but with commercial grade materials that won't be going to the landfill!

Went to Atwoods in Checotah yesterday to pick up a few things and they had just gotten a new shipment of Naked Necks in. I have only seen pictures of these chickens before (as I am so new to this chicken stuff). I DO NOT need any more chickens (which my husband reiterated to me as I stood there looking!)....but I fell in love with these unusual little prehistoric looking fellas! I got 3 black, all with bow ties and 2 red, 1 with bow tie and 1 without! Now I can be Momma again!

In the future I am going to have to figure out how to say no, or just completely stay out of the feed stores in the Spring!

Hope everyone has a great day! Don't let the wind blow you away, and if the severe storms hit your area tonight, be safe!

This is terrible! Both you and AL, who like to eat and are the least able to afford to lose weight, are having food issues

Does food still taste acceptable even though it tastes "different?"

How do you get pheasant eggs and not know the breed?

Your coop sounds wonderful!

Where in Checotah is the Atwoods located? I guess it is a good thing that we are not going to visit our property in Porum Landing very often. I DO NOT NEED easy access to an Atwoods.

We used to always stop at the Walmart on the way to our property (I liked the "old" Wal-Mart better than the new superstore)

What type of foul can I run down at my property to help control the ticks besides guineas or game birds? that can sort of take care of themselves???

I think it is going to be a bad year for ticks, we almost never have them in our yard, but I've already found several this year.
