yup.

And not to influence you on a second breed but you can't beat cute little Naked Necks. Naturally disease resistant, will outperform both layers and broilers in both cold and hot weather. And as I mentioned just too cute!!

I am so small time - 18 adults and 28 chicks, (thats untill next the 17th/18th when the 38 eggs start pipping).

thats fine , you have colors in the bantam cochins i dont lol

i just hatched some the roo i have is blue and the hens are red , birchin and blue birchen , but im looking for a new roo or a pair , or even a few chicks so if you plan to sale any or are you waiting for poops

Blue birchen? - pretty! Someone on the Cochin thread posted a picture today of a blue columbian hen.
I am still looking at how the patterning and colors of the mille fleurs develope - It can take 3, 4 months. The chicks have different down colors; some wheaton, some partridge (and a few gray!?) I think I am getting some nice calicos; mille fleur but white dominant, not buff - really pretty!
My self-blues are barely just begining to lay now and I haven't got them with the Blacks to improve type yet. That is going to be a looooooong process.

The blue columbian hen that I saw the picture of today wasn't like a usual columbian color combination, buff or white body with black hackles, she had blue hackles!

Good evening everyone! So ready for the weekend. Was supposed to go Turkey hunting with hubby and two boys, but convinced them to go without me...gonna just be me and the animals and a pile of work to get done.

Hens are still eggstapated, one egg today from the ameracauna...she's the only one who has laid any in about 4 days now.

Also, not sure but decided to spray for mites. Tiny tiny tiny bug crawled on me after leaving the coop, thought maybe a mite and that I would spray...maybe thats the problem.

Was thinking today...is there anyway to tell a chickens age? Like in horses you check the teeth but pretty sure that won't work with chickens.

Also, Love the silverlaced Wyandotte....thats the next type I want to get once I get these girls earning their keep.
