For those asking about the Reeves Pheasant last night. They brought $35 each. It was a beautiful pair. Also last night was a pair of Opal Peacocks they were nice two. Wish I had room for them.

Happy to see everyones smiling faces even though I did not to get visit with everyone.

I finally got the gates on the grow out section of my pen up today. The 8 January hatches are now running around tearing up the grass. (Well they were till I put them up in their new coop.) I now have 7 breeding pens that average 4" x 8' to 5' x 10' and a 16' x 15' grow out pen. My back and arthritus can't handle any short pens.
We have a few more small adjustments and cosmetic details on the big pen. I wish I hadn't painted it white. It kind of stands out and all the flaws show. I have always wanted to build something and I did most of the work on this myself including burrying 10" of hardware cloth all the way around and putting the shade cloth up. It sure wasn't built by a carpenter but it works. When we get the details done and my now 2/3 smaller garden planted we are having a chicken house warming party and you all are invited.
When I moved all the breeding groups to their new quarters Joe's buff pair ended up in the 5' x10' pen at the top of the hill. That is a lot of nice space for just two bantam cochins but that is where he thought they should go and since he paid for alot of the whole chicken complex I couldn't really object. He is a secret marshmallow heart and talks to the hens and spoils them all with black sunflower seeds. Don't tell him I told you anything.

Bravo!
You are going to love those cochins! I am biased I know. I only have cochins. They are the teddy bears of the chicken world.

Funny funny. Good details, feels like I need to take notes, not that I plan on starting a breeding program atleast at this time. When I first starting researching coops I saw some cities have a crazy coop show or something like that where you spend all day going from one coop to another. That would be kind of neat. My marshmellow heart likes to cook breakfast, we could start here lol, not much to show at the moment though.
