OKLAHOMA AUCTIONS and SWAPS

Quote:
We went there on November 1st. There were chickens, a few goats, a potbelly pig, peacocks, pheasant, guineas, parakeets, lovebirds, doves, and rabbits. The auction began at 8:30 am and the animal portion ended at around 11:30. Prices seemed to be very low. You might check out the recent posts on the BYC Okies thread to see more of what I wrote about it, and what Coondog wrote on page 299. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=23736&p=299

I am assuming that all of the auctions/swaps on this list are still ongoing. If anyone knows if any of them have stopped or changed for the winter, please let me know.
Monty

According to the Jones Auction flyer shown on Okies in the BYC post # 2970, the Jones auction is the 2nd and 4th Sat of the month. If that information was on the front page of this thread, I wouldn't have to keep looking for it

I'm posting so I have a tab on this.
But can anyone tell me about the Durant auctions?

Thats the one I live closest to and its an hour or so away.
Is there a good amount of birds there?

Do I need to bring my own cages to the Jones auction or are they provided as in Stillwater?

The Lexington Auction is every Monday night at 7pm we start with farm related misc. and then sell all the caged animals. We just opened back up in November and the sales are getting bigger every monday. For information or directions Call Jim @ 405-826-8631 or Barbara @405-370-8967 Please leave a message if you call on Sale Day because sometimes our cell phones don't ring in the barn.

We go to the Durant auction almost every time and they always have lots of birds, but they also have lots of misc. usually too. So the sale starts at 6pm but if you are just wanting birds it would be safe to wait and come at 7pm. The sale usually last until 11:30 or later. You won't meet a nicer bunch of people than John and his staff. But a word to the wise if you are coming make sure you dress warm because it can get really cold in the sale barn.

I am new to the area and have a handfull of young chickens.
Anyway I want some more and I realize that maybe this is bad time to get them but can anyone direct me to the poultry swaps or auctions in my area. Willing to travel a bit to get to one......sorry I am in Joplin,Mo.
Thank you any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
