The Sale starts at 11:00 on Friday, with the following sale order: buffalo, lonhorn, watusi, zebu, other cattle, zebra, African hoofstock, auodad, elk, deer, trophy rams, alpacas, sheep/goats. There is a small animal/fowl swap all day in the alley behind the sale barn.

On Saturday, the sale starts at 10:00 with the following sale order: caged animals/poultry (USDA regs apply - no cardboard boxes), bottle fed babies, warm room animals, equipment, llamas, mini-horses and mini-donkeys

As I recall, small animals and poultry sell in the cage they come in and wire cages must have straw on the bottom of them so the poultry isn't on wire.

If I recall correctly, the sale in June is usually the last sale until Sept because of the heat.

Hey just confirming the times and dates for the Prague auctions. I am really only interested in the poultry for auction and maybe a zebra. hehehe!

She indicated that one pair brought $8,000 and the reserve wasn't met on the second pair so they didn't sell. She very seriously told me that if I was interested in the zebra pair that didn't sell, I could check at the office and they would put me in touch with the seller. Be careful what you ask for!

There were not many birds left in the back alley by the time we arrived about 3:00. They did still have a gorgeous swan and several pairs of peacocks. I anticipate that more poultry will arrive tomorrow for the actual poultry auction. We have to go back tomorrow and get all the goats we bought

so will get to see what is new and available for auction.

I sure wish I could have gone to the Prague auction today but I was having a luau for my students and their families today. I was kinda hoping is was later in the evening so we could have gone. Oh well maybe next month. It is not like I am hurting for birds anyway. hehehe

Has anyone gone to the Maud auction lately? If so would you give a report on how it was?

A little up date about Oklahoma auctions. I have only been to a few auctions but thought I would throw my two cents in about the ones I have gone to. Harrah was the first auction we have gone to. The first time was pretty cool but the last couple of times I have gone they were selling a lot of, for lack of a better word, crap and the prices some of the stuff was selling higher then new prices.

I also was a little frustrated on how rough they were with the birds and how poor the condition of the birds.

The Cement auction was pretty good. (I have only been once) but it was clean, birds were healthier and in better condition, and there was not as much junk. I bought two crested polish roos (one is solid black with a v comb and the other is a black white crested) a brahma and a lovely black silkie hen. There were a lot of rabbits for sell and man that took forever but we had a lot of fun, just talking to everyone there.

Tonight we went to the auction in Maud and it was pretty good. It starts at 5pm but we did not get there until 8pm and they were just finishing up the goats (which there was a lot of them). Someone brought 10 boxes of bronze poults with 20 babies in each box and they went for $2 per poult. That was really cheap right? The prices were real good. I got 8 Red bourbon eggs, 3 peafowl eggs, 6 mystery turkey eggs, 4 black spanish poults and 2 bronze poults for $77. Did I mention there was a lot of goats. Which I found out are sent to Mexico to make chili out of.

I think it was run pretty well. There were a lot of kids running around unattended but were fairly well behaved. There was a little boy carrying around a chicken all evening. It was very cute.

I would like to hear from those who have gone to the Prague auction and what they thought of it. I would like to go this month.

Hi! Really new. Wanting to get my feet wet, never been to an auction at all. Where can I find more info on the MWC auction? I've heard people talk about it, but what times and where exactly is it?

Also heard its way over priced??, but thought I'd start with the one closest to home.
