I made up some flyers while at work today that states its been cancelled but will reschedule. I didn't post any up bc I still wasn't sure if we were a definate 'no' but I will do that tomorrow. The feed stores will all be closed by the time I get off work but since I'm off Sat. now anyway I guess I can hit them before they close up shop.

Hey Everyone,

First off, I'm really sorry that this had to be postponed (not cancelled, postponed) so close to the actual date for Oklahoma Chickenstock. I've been watching in amazement at the organization and excitement being put into this event.

I applaud and respect Mawchickkidie's decision to hold off and really appreciate everyone for being so understanding!

There is a bit of great silver lining to this dark cloud: I've been in contact with Mawchickkidie regarding some ideas about the OK Chickenstock and how I wish we had more time to come up with some more ways BYC could be involved. Fortunately we'll have more time to really get some of these ideas baked!

A quick note regarding all the press and people that may be showing up that aren't on BYC and with whom we have no way to get in touch: Can I suggest that anybody that lives close to the location go and hang out for a little while with some cards that have printed information about BYC and the forum and that they can get information on why it was rescheduled and also keep up with updates and the new chickenstock date / time? Maybe a couple people could volunteer to do a couple shifts? Also maybe you could get their email addresses to keep them posted. Just brainstorming ways to get as many people informed and involved as possible.

Again, congratulations to everyone for the hard work put into this. There is a little setback here, but I'd love to see this great event turn into something done regularly... maybe even annually!

Since the fairgrounds has a big switchable letters sign (have no idea what the marketing term is for them) can the fairboard put up that chickenstock has been postponed til Oct?

I guess on my days off I will start emailing more companies and get us some more stuff, maybe they will take pity on us since we had to reschedule

Well I was on step ahead of you all I had the fair Board put up on the marquee that it was canceled and had some flyers up round town and at some gas station, and had them announce it at the auction that it was canceled and rescheduled, and alot of people came up and told me that so and so that they know who hangs out on that forum told me that it was canceled and that is was being rescheduled for sometime in october. so that good ole word of mouth worked really good for us. and there was a few who were going to attend that had ball games at the ball field right next to the barn that sat over in the parking lot of the barn and told people what was going on. So I had it covered thank goodness. Now all we need to do is agree on the date would ya'll like to have it on the 4th or the 11th? let me know what you think> Maw.
