Okra, Best Way to freeze????

To put up your own breaded okra for the freezer, wash orka whole, dry some, but not compelety, cut into desired slices, bread with your favorite breading recipe, place breaded okra on a large baking sheet being careful that it's not clumped together, and freeze. When frozen, place individual cut & breaded pieces in freezer bags.

I use a mixture of seasoned flour and cornmeal for my breading. I place it in a large freezer bag and then add damp, cut okra and shake until coated. Proceed with freezing and storing as per above directions.

Thanks for the okra advice! Having never picked okra never mind seen an okra plant, when I was handed a pair of gloves and pocket knife and pointed in the directed of the okra ( yes, I knew what okra looked like) and proceeded to cut okra, I thought, hey look at me, I'm a farm girl! Ha! Yeah, right. Luckily someone came over and told me that if when cutting,it was hard to cut through, drop it on the ground, as it would be tough to eat as well. Made sense. I did mention I already cut some, I didn't mention they may have been on the bigger side and on the tougher side??? Anyway, no one mentioned that if you want a lot of okra, take a bucket, not doubled Walmart bags, and long gloves or long sleeves and regular gloves as that burning and itching is not pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised to find on this site that I didn't have to blanch then freeze. I already discovered that by discovered that by inserting a straw into the corner of a zip lock bag I could take out the air. Anyway, thanks for the advice!
