Old English Game Bantam Thread!

HuffleClaw, do the OEB lavenders have the poor feather quality that many other (breeds) lavenders do? Beautiful color.
I don’t think mine have “bad quality” feathering. They’re just not bred to the SOP. Thank you!

I hatched a couple rounds of self blues (I thought in the OEGB world they use self-blue instead of lavender). I’ll have to pull pics from my other phone though. I don’t see any in my cloud folder. I didn’t have any feather issues with them (I also bred lavender orpingtons) they were beautiful.

Your rooster has a little leakage, but the next generation should be better. Swap him out with his best son.
I thought so too. I’ll swap him out with his best son, but I’ll keep him as a pet or something, but not for breeding.

What I like about them is their looks of course but they are so independent. I have 4 females all from my oldest hen she'll be 4 in spring and none of my other females have gone broody but boy mama is sure persistent. My 3 roos manage to avoid each other with no fighting, And have never been aggressive to me. All sleep in the same coop though and each seem to have their own following of the hens. I don't breed for show either I just love bantams and this breed is one of my favorites. Thanks to @WVduckchick
