Pics
After looking at these pictures I think my girls are OEB crosses (maybe with silkie as one has dark skin and the other has 5toes). Are they bigger or smaller than d’uccle‘s? Mine are a bit smaller but their eggs aren’t . They fly really well and are a bit flighty but nice.

This picture show their size. My EE is the black chicken, and through the wire you can see my d’uccle .

Not any nice glamor shots--in the best one, he's still growing stuff in from his first molt. =( Even now, his tail feathers are still encased halfway up in that whitish sheath. Sooner or later, 9 Volt might actually look nice! LOL This first is the day after we rescued him (July 13, he was my birthday present to myself :D).

This next one was his Thanksgiving dinner, complete with the Lions losing in the background. :lau View attachment 1616142 As close to a glamor shot as I could get, about to lose half those tail feathers in his molt.
View attachment 1616144 ...And mad at me on election day. :gig He barked the whole time, goofy little guy!
View attachment 1616145...And here's a red pyle photo I stole off the interwebz the other day. :D The pyles are gorgeous!

He’s a pretty boy! Funny enough, you rescued him on my birthday as well! (July 13th)

Can you suggest a feed for this little feller? During his rehabilitation, he had him on the girls' layer feed with tidbits of extra protein and such. Now that he's at full health, I wonder if it's the layer feed that's trying to grow that darn beak back out to where it was when we found him. Got a suggestion for some permanent tucker for an active, healthy OEGB couch roo?

Oh my goodness, I'm in love! :love Aren't OEGB roosters the best? :) I like my little hens, too, but they're not generally not as personable.

We also have 30+ OEGBs coming this spring! Brassy Back, Spangled, Crele, and an assortment of 15.

Ooooh, that Crele! :th What do you call the color of the one with speckles like a Jubilee Orpington? (Sorry, I've only been a chicken mamma about a year)

I’d recommend some all-flock feed or flock-raiser. What do you keep him in? Feather-fixer is really good for feathers, too ;)

Beautiful chickens, Alex! :love

Adorable names!

Ooooh, gonna find that....it seems he's taking an awful long time in this molt, I hate to think it's just a matter of diet.

Oh! His home---it's currently a very large, very deep, see-thru tub. Big enough to flap and such without hitting the sides but shallow enough for him to hop to the rim when I remove the lid. I have pine shavings in there for bedding. Hubby wants to get him a parrot cage but those poor, wee little curled feet aren't going to allow him to roost properly. =(
