Ooooh, that Crele! :th What do you call the color of the one with speckles like a Jubilee Orpington? (Sorry, I've only been a chicken mamma about a year)
Crele is my very favorite color variety! :love Nothing else like it. :)

He was a Spangled OEGB. :D

Beautiful chickens, Alex! :love

Adorable names!
Awww, thank you so much! :hugs

Oh my goodness, I'm in love! :love Aren't OEGB roosters the best? :) I like my little hens, too, but they're not generally not as personable.

We also have 30+ OEGBs coming this spring! Brassy Back, Spangled, Crele, and an assortment of 15.

Sadly, Tiny, Nice, Puzzle, Mr. Man Thing, and Sweetie Pie are no longer with us. :(

Half-deaf Hubby---I said out loud, "Teeny, Tiny and Snickerdoodle," and he took personal offense. ROFL "I am neither Teeny, nor Tiny, and I'm not even going to address 'Snickerdoodle'." :lau

WVduck chick, are you anywhere close to Hampshire County?

HuffleClaw, the lavender/self blues feather quality looks fine. There is a gene close to the lavender color that often gets passed with the color. It makes for poor feather quality. People are working on it.

Yep lavender is a whole separate gene. But I agree, the sun can cause it to fade and look like leakage.

I’m in Wood Co, almost over to the Ohio River. But my hubby comes to Berkeley Springs and Keyser regularly for business :)

Not the best pictures in the world, but here’s a few more pics of my lavender OEGB pullet, Violet. :) (yes, she’s in the house, but she’s going back to the coop on a few minutes)

I’m thinking I’ll hatch a few batches of lavs and sell them as pet-quality, while keeping the “best” ones for myself.

Girls look good! Great color. If you breed them and get any black, you’ll know the male isn’t pure for lavender. I figure he is, just saying if you did happen to get black chicks, that would explain it. Lol

He’s a pretty boy! Funny enough, you rescued him on my birthday as well! (July 13th)

July 14th here! :highfive:
(Many many years before you though) :gig
