Old fashioned Broody thread for ducks 2013 edition

So I moved my broody. She came out again, she & a hen got into it bad. The hen actually bit the duck so hard that she was bleeding. She's ok!!! I moved her out of the coop into the garage, now hoping she wont reject her eggs

... will they stop at one point or will there be a crazy amount of eggs. if so should i relocate the other two ducks?

I have a pair of Pekins (say *that* 10x Fast!) that want to co-parent, works ok --as long as mom #2 doesn't "bomb" the nest with eggs-- And when the 2 moms were nesting together here, it was super cold, so I think it was good for warmth. Just keep a close watch, if the others start laying eggs after mom#1 starts to sit, they can mess up her hatch. And she'll give you clues, too, whether she wants the others around or not. Just keep watch. And remove wanna-be moms if needed.

Here she is!!! She's looking comfy & settled after the move.

Should I give her more straw?

What a sweet pic. glad she is settled. I've got one more move for my broody, when hatch starts I will put her into the lil coop so she can have even more privacy and a little fenced in area just for her and babies. Around 15-17 more days for my girl.
