I am trying to diet here folks!!!! And I LOVE poundcake!!! Any tips on getting it to NOT stick in the bundt? I spray with pam-usually works on everything - but last one I remember making was a mess!but yummy!
I usually let cool on a wire rack for 10 mins and then flip and finish cooling on wire racks on regular cakes. Do you do this on a bundt too? I'll have to remember to use the spray with flour! Thanks!

Well... first of all, I'd use a tube pan instead of the sheet cake pan, now that I know what one is.
Secondly, I noticed that I put 1 tsp of salt instead of 1/2 but I don't think that made a lot of difference. I would also tap the pan on the counter to get rid of the bubbles that come up when it is baking. I would not put frosting on it again. I don't like frosting much anyway, but that's all I had. I would make a glaze next time. Oh- I also didn't sift the flour because I didn't understand how to do that.
But now I do because my dear wife showed me. All in all it was a good cake and it just goes to show me how simple it is to make one because even with all of my mistakes, it still turned out good. Thanks. Now I have to go finish eating this cake so I can make another one.
One more thing- I would flip it out of the pan next time as well- before trying to frost a cake.
Ooooh, Miss Prissy! I made your pound cake this afternoon; it was supposed to go with dinner (homemade pizza with blue cheese and toasted walnuts), but it didn't quite make it. DH and I just had slices with vanilla ice cream...it's killer! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. And ours is also a lovely yellow color, thanks to our girls' delicious eggs!
