Hello fellow chicken lovers. My wife and I are 76 and 71 which I guess is a little old for beginners but it is what it is.
I bought 6 female Easter eggers and 2 Prairie bluebell eggers....one of the Prairie bluebell eggers turned out to be a male and boy can he crow. They were hatched in July and we are getting anywhere from 5 to 7 eggs a day.
We're getting green, blue and brown eggs which is a pretty nice assortment but my question is that all the eggs are easily cracked in the frying pan but the brown eggs are very hard to crack compared to the others. Can anyone tell me why?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sounds like the shells are thin. Always offer oyster shell in a separate tub or bowl on the side. Keep it near the food or water. Oyster shell is a perfect source of calcium to help form hard shells. Thin shelled eggs are harder to pass as well, could lead to egg binding.
