Old hen with huge prolapse: Opinions needed ASAP

The others have imparted very good advice. All I can offer is my article on treating prolapse/egg binding to fill in the gaps. https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...ng-from-vent-prolapse-oh-my-what-to-do.76124/

The important things are to keep her calm, keep the prolapse from drying out with applications of ointments or honey, and calcium orally. I discovered how valuable Manuca honey is in situations such as this. It's thicker and stickier and adheres well to tissue.

I actually had a bantam hen, who had a prolapse like this. Turned out she had a big poop she couldn't pass. I just gently worked the poop out, & pushed the prolapse back inside. It did come back out alittle bit a couple times, afterwards.
It stayed in after I gave her a dosage of Nutridrench, & some coconut oil for possible constipation. The next day she was completely fixed. Hasn't happened again since.

Another good thought there, constipation, that would do it too.

Update: She isn’t worse this morning which is encouraging. Gave her a soak, trimmed feathers, gave calcium, herbs, and coconut oil orally, applied coconut oil and Manuka honey, and separated her in a pop up mesh pen to keep her away from flies. Also soaked her feed to make sure she was staying hydrated. So far so good, she’s still got high spirits and is definitely a trooper. I’ll keep the thread updated, and as long as the prolapse doesn’t get larger I think we’re on the right track.
Thanks everyone for the quick responses, I’m so glad there is still sometimes can do.

Just got back from being out of town for 5 days. We left her in the care of our pet sitter, who is amazing and did a great job with Lacey. She is not better. As far as I can tell the prolapse is bigger, but I’m double checking before I jump to any conclusions. 😞
She’s standing hunched over, trying to expel the egg. I also don’t see nearly as many droppings in the pen as there should be. Thank you for all the help, I’m hoping there’s still something I can do, but again I’m unsure.

The photos arent great, but hopefully you can get the idea.
Just for clarification and making sure I'm understanding the photos - the red line I drew is the top opening of her vent correct?

If that's the case, then IF she were mine, I'd put her out of her misery. I don't say this lightly, it's a heartbreaking call to make and I'm so very very sorry!:hugs

Sweet Laney :(
