older hen shaking head and loosing feathers

Hello I have a hen that I was given 2 years ago. I have no idea the bread, she is white. I am guessing she is 4 years old, maybe 5. She lays every once in awhile , anyhoo she wont stop shaking her head and now she is loosing her feathers. Do older hens molt in the winter? Or could she be sick?? Thank you

I have a hen that always shakes her head and has always displayed odd behavior since she was a chick (the flock travels one way and she walks down the road in the opposite direction, wanders in circles when approached, squaks when lost even though her buddies are just around the corner). Mine will be 3 in march. She is going through a molt too. I just assumed that the head shaking was her normal. Is the head shaking a new behavior for your hen?

How often does she shake her head? Did you see any mites on her? Is she the only one shaking her head?
