Hi! Just wondering if anyone has ever had problems with their older chickens having scaly/rough looking legs? I am positive they do not have scaly leg mites. I have a few of my older birds that look like their legs appear to be really dry, I am noticing that it seems to be on the ones that are molting. I was planning on showing a few of these again next year. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this or have suggestions on what I could do to fix it?

Could you post pictures of their legs, maybe somebody will have an idea? If it isn't a health problem as such, maybe try over on the Showing forum about what they do to get legs into show condition? A lot of times birds just going though a hard molt look rough all over though, if it is just that, extra protein seems to help.
