I run the chicks and ducklings section of our family owned store and I would like to say that I really do care about the well-being of my little babies from the moment they arrive, to a customer asking for advice a month after they purchased them.

A week and a half ago we received 17 ducklings. Due to sales, we now have a lonely little soul left. The poor baby cries and cries in there all day long. In six days we will have more chicks and ducklings arriving. Is it safe to say that the duckling can be placed with the incoming batch? He/she is so lonely that I don’t want to separate them (which is usually done when we have more.)

I hate going somewhere and seeing anything left by itself. I've been known to buy fish and take them all, if I want 3 and there is 4 I take the 4. The 4 chicks I just got was the same thing. They told me what they had, I ordered them to be held, but when I got there a tiny chick was with the 3 I was buying. They didn't even know she was in there, different breed. I passed on taking the one from the other bin and took her since she was already in there and used to the other three...

I hope whatever you do, the duck gets a friend. Maybe get an even amount and sell in even numbers--either 2 or 4, so they all can go with a friend.
