Now DH says lets go ahead and put her with the others...
Now that she has layed an egg he will keep her....

I told him she needs to stay in quaratine for a while ... he asked how long? I figure 2 -3 weeks is that right???
I don't have any idea how old she is.
But I sure am tickled I got her

Congrats on the find. I understand the urge to put her with your others, but you really do need to keep them seperate. I think 2 - 3 weeks at least. The real question is are you willing to take the risk that your other chickens might get sick.

With the white in her feathers it looks like a Sex-link. She should be a good layer.

Looks like a RIR hen to me! My production RIR hens have pretty elaborate combs, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is a hen. Nice find! I'm glad it's not a rooster.

THANKS everyone It sure was a neat surprize and really better when she gave me a surprize egg too..

I had planned to keep her seperate for a couple of weeks DH was just questioning the lenght of time...
No we don't want to risk the rest of our flock for 1 bird...
