The survival chance has definitely taken a hit but if the chick and yolk and veins haven't taken any damage and the membrane is still in tact then he may live. If it starts to dry use a small spray bottle and sprits the area. And @lacrystol , if you read the first post I think that she only opened it up because she thought it was dead, so I don't think she is 'helping' them hatch, so much as trying to eliminate rotten ones.
Anyway, if it pipped the opposite side that you broke, plastic wrap is a safe bet, as it will not interfere With the hatching process. Bacteria is the biggest threat right now. It takes about 24 hours after the pip to hatch so it may make it before infection sets in. Definitely watch it. Best of luck!
