OMG help me i did a Bo Bo

The survival chance has definitely taken a hit but if the chick and yolk and veins haven't taken any damage and the membrane is still in tact then he may live. If it starts to dry use a small spray bottle and sprits the area. And @lacrystol , if you read the first post I think that she only opened it up because she thought it was dead, so I don't think she is 'helping' them hatch, so much as trying to eliminate rotten ones.
Anyway, if it pipped the opposite side that you broke, plastic wrap is a safe bet, as it will not interfere With the hatching process. Bacteria is the biggest threat right now. It takes about 24 hours after the pip to hatch so it may make it before infection sets in. Definitely watch it. Best of luck!

Maybe it is an empty shell and has already hatched fine on its own, or maybe is another egg the was rotten. It doesn't matter either way because that is not the egg we are concerned with right now.

Help for me, too! I have a broken shell day 25 (duck eggs).

I am felling horrible because when getting ready for lockdown I dropped this egg only a few inches. The membranes are intact. I have humidity cranked and set it, break down, on a damp washcloth so it doesn't dry out.

Should I plastic wrap it?

I am spritzing it to keep the towel wet. Will opening the bator to care for this egg screw up my hatch? I'm just sick about this. :/

I disagree it does matter, trying to save life's not lose them. People will get very impatient and antsy, which is understandable but to have a great hatching one needs to comtrol the urge !!!!
