omg, help me. My silkie has hoarded the ducks eggs

how exciting! good luck, it's sounds like you and mother have everything under control. Silkies make excellent brooders and mothers, so I bet she'll stick there till the end.

i sure hope you all are right. im worried about her rejecting the ducks like theres something wrong with them. and i dont know how long til her other 2 eggs of her own will hatch! she has 2 babies hatched and happy, why arent the other 2 out??? could they be a week off? I candled them and i know there are babies in there. soooo. i wait...

Well chicks incubate for about 21 days, but I have had some hatch up to a week before others. I believe this is due to the first eggs laid starting to develop while she is laying another or sleeping on the nest at night.

Ducks need 28 days or 35-37 if it's a muscovy. so they are going to take quite a bit longer. I'm a bit foggy about how many days it's been since your little ones hatched,, so you'll have to do the math on about how many days you'll have left. Of course this is just a guestament because your not really sure when she started setting.

I really love this site. It tells you when they will all hatch and about the incubation process.

pick them up and sniff them. the bad ones are pretty obvious
