I have two 15 week old partially sighted Pekin(cochin) bantam chicks still in a dog crate in the garage because I cant face taking them down to the chicken shed. It really is pathetic, they wont settle down to roost till after they have their cuddles at night!!

Husband very understanding...................

I know I know we're getting into the same position, last week my mum and auntie went to a charity auction and started bidding on a pair of geese for us

Thankfully they didn't win.

Think the little ones have broken my husband tho, came home late from work the other day to find him sleeping on the sofa with chicks happily roosted on his chest. Busted .......................!

Very jealous of your hatching I miss doing mine, will have to wait now till next year

I have a note written on the opening to my hatching 'bator in permanent marker: DO NOT OPEN THE LID!!

Every time I go into lockdown, the folks here at BYC remind me: DO NOT OPEN THE LID!!

I *will* get it imprinted into my brain at some point!
