How loud are mandarine ducks, i wanted to have a pair and i live in the suburbs..would that bother the neighbors?
Also would they be able to fly away, or know to go into the nest box if a predator came in the pen, because i was thinking that i would build the aviary with hawk netting or some type of netting and IF a predator would attack they could fly away like on high branches or in the nest box, or would they just kinda be eaten?

I can see the temptation...they are gorgeous!

They are very quiet. You should try to make all your pens as predator-proof as possible. The females only go in the boxes when layin in spring. Most all ducks will get ate once a predator is in the pen flying or not.

In all honesty they are like domestic ducks if you spend time with them. Ive said this a bunch. Do they look freaked out ?

you can see mine an other users aviarys, some large, and some small, in the link in my signature.Don't exactly like how they used a picture of the internet though. I love mine, and i am very envious of destin because mine are a bit skittish when i'm in the pen with them. But strangely they can be right against the tin on the inside and i can be on the outside looking straight down on them and there fine, as long as i stay out there.

Destin, seems like every time i look at your pics i see another species in that group.
